Mathew Knowles responded earlier today to Aretha Franklin’s comments about the fact that his daughter Beyoncé referred to Tina Turner as “the queen” during Sunday’s Grammy Awards.Mathew Knowles said:
“As a manager I am not taking something this ridiculous to Beyonce. Beyonce referred to Tina Turner as a ‘queen,'” . “Not queen of gospel, queen of soul, queen of blues, Queen of England. I consider my wife a queen and sometimes call her that. Does Aretha have a problem with that?”
Aretha needs to stop her mess.

I think Aretha is just upset because of how great Tina Turner looked. I say the Queen to me is Patti LaBelle, what would Aretha think. I guess when ure old and washed up and tryin to still be in the spotlight u crave attention…its time Aretha to accept the fact that she like, Tina and Patti and all the others are in the past…Queens of their times!
Aretha sweety, im 23 years old, even i can see when a bored grown up like you gets childish and losses focus on those expending hips like global warming. Truly speaking someone as old as Aretha shouldn’t be playing such silly games. Worrying about a beautiful thing Beyonce said to someone else is plain jealousy. Tina has a beautiful body so does Beyonce. Maybe Aretha should focus on her music and eat less… maybe she would have been mentioned as a queen.
straight up jealousy! period. tina turner has accomplished EVERYTHING that aretha has and aretha knows it. for a hot young star like beyonce to call tina the queen and not her bruised her ego big time! i agree with mo merrell about aretha,tina, patti labelle, chaka khan and the rest, they most definently are queens of their time! aretha is a damn fool if she thinks shes the only iconic female soul singer! she needs to check herself and come back down to earth!
