There has been a lot of talk about Blake Griffin’s slam dunk over a car recently, but many people are saying that it was over-the-top. Black Griffin and JaVale McGee squared off on Saturday during the 2011 NBA All-Star slam dunk competition which took place in Los Angelos.
McGee’s second dunk which was a one-handed dunk was fairly unimpressive in all respects but its was greatly overshadowed by the impressive move that Griffin made minutes later, which consisted of flying over a car to dunk the basket into the hoop.
The over-the-hood slam dunk which stunned the collective audience was rather remarkable but there are still some who are saying that it was overrated because he only went over the hood and not the entire car.
In the past there have been somewhat similar moves on the court, although perhaps nothing quite like jumping over the hood of a car to make a slam dunk in a basket. There is no doubt that his move was unexpected and one of a kind which would explain why he was awarded the trophy.
