A 20-year old woman was recently pronounced dead after she received silicone injections in her buttocks in an attempt to enhance her figure and spur on her career.
Claudia Aderotimi was taken to the hospital after she received the injections in a hotel room at the Hampton Inn Hotel in Philadelphia.
She traveled to the United States from Hackney in East London in order to undergo the procedure, which had been arranged on the internet and cost her a little more than $1,500.
According to her ex-boyfriend, Paul Djimo, he could not believe that Aderotimi would undergo the procedure again after she told him that it simply hurt too much.
“After she had the injections last time, she told me she couldn’t take the pain and wouldn’t do it again. I never thought she would go back. When she first mentioned having surgery, I thought it was just a joke. We laughed about it and I never imagined it would end up being the cause of her death,” Djimi told The Sun, a British newspaper.
So far the police have cleared one woman suspected in the case, and are still looking for another that they believe was involved.
