Halle Berry And Gabriel Aubry Custody Battle For Daughter Nahla

Why can’t couples end their relationships in a civilized way?

Halle Berry and her former partner Gabriel Aubry who split recently may not be fighting for money but they are embroiled in a nasty and public battle over their two and a half year old daughter Nahla.

Earlier this afternoon news broke that the Oscar winning actress had decided to drop out of the movie called “New Year’s Eve” (she will be replaced by comedienne Katherine Heigl) to focus on “custody issues”.

Later on we learned that Berry who had put in place an amicable agreement with Aubry is now accusing of him of putting their daughter’s life in danger and was heading to court for a nasty custody battle.

The reports were quickly confirmed by the star’s rep Meredith O’Sullivan who released the following statement:

“Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her .”

The publicist went on to add:

“Halle has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter’s father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention.”

The Canadian model wasted no time and released a statement of his own where he denied his former lover’s claims and took the opportunity to take a little jab at the mother of his child. The statement read:

“While Gabriel is disappointed in Halle’s decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes, he refuses to be pulled into her dispute over a canceled film production.”

It continued:

“Gabriel also refuses to air their issues in the press as he believes this may ultimately harm their daughter.The fact is that Gabriel is a caring father who shares custody of Nahla.”

Rumors claimed that Aubrey who had a fling with reality star Kim Kardashian is bitterly angry at Berry who is currently dating French actor Olivier Martinez and that is the reason why he initiated this custody battle.
