There’s nothing like a mother’s love to make her use Twitter to blast her daughter’s opponent.
That’s what Oracene Price the mother of both tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams did via Twitter. However, the mom of the dynamic tennis duo wasn’t rooting for one of her brood but for tennis player Li Na during Saturday’s Australian Open.
It appears that Ms. Price doesn’t like contender Kim Clijsters that much and is hoping to see someone else win a Slam.
Price reportedly used the popular social networking site to bash Clijsters calling her such names as “dubious” and making comparisons between the tennis player and the Greek mythological figure Medusa one of the Gorgons who is said to have been so fearsome that her look could turn men into stone.
Ms. Price is one to speak her mind apparently and being the mother of two of the most celebrated athletes in history gives her some room to voice her opinions and others will take notice.
Price does mention in her Tweet that she’d like to see a Chinese win the Slam and that shows she still keeps an eye on the sport even when her daughters aren’t in the competition.

What a mean woman making such an unkind and unfair comment. I’m sure she doesn’t like it when people b*tch about her daughters. Bit of jealousy there, me thinks, as Clijsters is so globally popular.

I remember when Oracene was at the Medibank International in Sydney a few years ago. I was watching I think Serena (cant remember) and all of a sudden Oracene pulls a full chicken wrapped in paper towel out of her handbag and starts eating it. It was the trashiest thing I have ever seen. Good to see she has not changed!
Also Serena and Venus are great players and will go down in history. Nothing should be taken away from Kim. She is the best player in the world right now but what I don’t understand is how she is ranked number 2 after winning the last 2 grand slams. The world number 1 hits the ball like a lollipop and wears a tutu.
First of all none of us see what goes on behind the scenes at these events. There was and to some extent a lot of racism in this sport. Comparing Oracene to Richard is a bit hard I think. She is allowed to express her feelings just as so many of the other players have. I like Clijsters, but she is an Aussie and they do have a history in their dealings with blacks in their country.
Both she and her husband should be applauded for what they have accomplished with those girls. Not only did Richards style of tennis change the sport forever, the fact that because they came from a city like Compton, California was a huge hurtle to get pass in that world. After all of these years she speaks her mind and you all have a fit…get over it……

I don’t want to be rude to Oracene Price but I definitely think She is a very unkind and ill mannered person. Kim is one of the most beautiful player I have ever seen. She is probably the best and well dressed woman in court unlike Oracene’s own daughters. Kim you are a beauty.

Kim is beautiful on the outside and the INSIDE where it counts. It is amazing how petty someone such as Oracene (who has been given so much materially but so little in class) can be.
no offense but Kim is very hideous, and her game is bland. Both of the two Aus Open Finalists should be required to write open letters to Serena, thanking her for not being there because based on the quality of the final match, neither of them would have won if she was there. It’s the truth.
