Singer Aretha Franklin recently announced that she is indeed moving forward with producers in order to make her life story into a movie for the big screen.
Although actress Halle Berry has denied that she will play the main role, Franklin announced that the film is finally advancing, and that her autobiography “Aretha: From These Roots” is indeed being turned into a biopic.
The singer was recently diagnosed with an unnamed illness, and underwent surgery for it, but she claims that she is now in excellent health and is looking forward to the next thing that she has coming up.
She recently phoned into “The Wendy Williams Show” and told the host about her latest project, saying, “For the last four years, we’ve been talking about (the film), and I have had a number of offers. Unfortunately, they were not good offers.
Now, we have something on the table. They have all of the financing on one project…(and are) in the process of writing things for me to approve…Halle Berry is my pick…there’s a young Aretha that has yet to be named.”
However, Berry recently spoke about the offer, saying, “If I could carry a tune, I’d consider it. Someone should tell Aretha that I can’t do her justice.”
It would just be too unbelievable for Halle Berry to play Aretha Franklin. Aretha may have a good self image but Halle she aint.
