Ted Williams Golden Voice Homeless Man In Rehab

The 53-year-old man with the golden voice who was homeless just weeks ago is now going into rehab for what he has said is a major drinking problem.

Ted Williams was recently taken into custody by police after having a loud argument with hi daughter which was apparently about his drinking.

Although the two ended up in a downtown police station, nobody was arrested. The disturbance call was relatively minor and nobody was injured or arrested.

During the taping of the Dr. Phil Show in Los Angeles, Williams agreed to get the counseling he needs to get his life back on track after being on the streets for a number of years with no formal treatment for his addictions.

The ex-wife and five other family members of Williams’ will be on the Thursday episode of Dr. Phil to discuss what happened during the argument and also why they feel Williams will not be able to handle the sudden fame.

During the show he eventually admitted to Doctor Phil that he had been drinking daily and that it was something he needed to get under control as soon as possible in order to take back his life.

  1. I’ve recently celebrated by 17th year clean and sober. I am a recovering “crack addict”. I currently and have been for the past fourteen and a half years work as a substance abuse counselor in las Vegas, Nevada. I’m a single 59 year old mother of eight, children, 5 of which were born in my active addiction. Just to give some validity to what I’m about to say. Mr. Williams has been done a grave injustice to be so fresh in his partial recovery and placed on blast like he has, relapse was inevitable. As an addict we want what we want now, but to have any success in recovery it is a slow process, “trudging” through issues we have tried to sedate with drugs, alcohol, opposite sex, gambling, food, etc.
to announce every move this man makes, is like giving a loaded gun to a sucidal person, playing “Russian Roulette. The attention and some honest offers are excellent, but if just the money that’s been spent on his promotion of homelessness could house 20 others in a proper transitional housing program.

Mr Williams I believe, has an excellent chance of getting his life back, in fact, improve on the life he once had with services being provided for him in a transitional setting.. Where assistance is made available fto him, yet, he work to get it. Then he owns his recovery, and no ones elses expectation become an issue.

My advise to Mr. Williams is “Easy does it”, one day at a tume, and Let go Let God. these may be cleches but they work, I’m living proof, ask my family, clients and employers, we do recover. I have earned a Bachelors degree in Human Service Management and a Master in Management. .

    God Bless
