Singer Aretha Franklin recently decided to reassure her fans that she truly was doing well, and so she made a surprise phone call to a daytime talk show in order to confirm that she was in fact healthy.
The singer called “The Wendy Williams Show” on Wednesday, January 12 and told the host, and all of her fans, that she is in “superb” health.
Franklin was recently forced to pull out of numerous concert dates that she had booked due to a mystery illness, that many believed to be pancreatic cancer.
The singer had surgery to correct the unnamed problem on December 2, 2010, and since then has said that she is recovering well. However, she still refuses to talk about her ailment, believing that she has a right to keep her personal life private.
She recently said, “I don’t have to talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors (but) the problem has been resolved. I am not one to do a lot of talking about my personal health or business. There are a lot of people who will talk about anything, as long as there is somebody listening. That’s not Aretha.”
