Trevell Coleman (G. Dep) Confesses 1993 Harlem Murder

A former rapper who had been signed by P. Diddy once upon a time, has recently confessed to a murder that took place 17 years ago. The confession apparently came as part of the 12-step program that he is partaking in, in order to detoxify himself from narcotics and other substances, and to try to turn his life around.

Trevell Coleman recently faced an indictment by a grand jury in Mahattan after he confessed to a shooting that took place in 1993. Coleman says that he was unaware that the victim had died after the shooting took place.

According to Coleman’s lawyer, the confession is simply one more step in his attempt to get his life back on the path he wants it to go.

Michael Alperstein, Coleman’s criminal defense lawyer said, “The power of the 12 step program and making amends. He’s trying to remake his life. He’s trying to clean up.”

Alperstein continued on with his report, saying, “He didn’t know that he killed the guy, but he knew he did something wrong—he’s been going to church his whole life.”

If Coleman is convicted of the crime, he could be looking at 25-years-to-life in jail.
