Will Smith, although not the celebrity actor, was recently arrested after getting into a domestic violence dispute with his wife, which ended with her being dragged down the street by her hair. Smith is the defensive end for the New Orleans Saints, NFL football team.
A few days after Smith and his team put up a victory against the Dallas Cowboys 30-27 during a Thanksgiving game, Smith was seen getting into a physical argument with his wife.
According to reports that have circulated around, it is said that Smith and his wife were leaving a nightclub around two in the morning, when an argument broke out between them. Soon after the fight began, local police officers witnessed him dragging his wife, Racquel Smith, down the street by her hair.
After the officers witnessed the altercation, they immediately intervened and arrested Smith at the scene. He later posted a $1,000 bail bond, and has a scheduled court date of Monday, November 29. Smith was arrested on charges of domestic abuse and simple battery.
A statement was issued by the New Orleans Saints, saying, “We are aware. We have spoken with Will. Our security staff is looking into the matter. No other comment. We will let the legal process take its course.”
