Bishop Eddie Long Scandal: Pastor Not Going Anywhere – Eddie Long, pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, has often attacked homosexuality and called for a national ban on gay marriage.
His congregation – which brings together some 25,000 faithfuls – even organizes therapy to “cure” homosexuality.
Married with four children, he is now accused by four young men of his congregation of abusing them when they were aged 17 or 18.
They all filed complaints in which they explained they had been forced into sex in exchange of cars, jewelry, vacations and money.
Eddie Long’s lawyer refuted the claims of the young people, talking about “false allegations” and attacks against the pastor and his church.
The pastor said during his sermon Sunday: “In times of challenge, there are several things that come out. Your faith will be strengthened or weakened.” “My faith is being strengthened,” he added, in front of his congregation.
Bishop Eddie Long Long told his followers at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church earlier today that he is “not going to be pulled into a street fight.” “Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more,” he later stated.
In conclusion it is safe to say that Bishop Eddie Long is not going anywhere.

The only thing wrong with gay sex might be giving an innocent party a disease. Nowhere in the Bible (that I am aware) does the Spirit say that gay sex between a married man and another man, married or single, is wrong. Unclean or perhaps at odds with the Jewish purity laws, yes. But sinful, no. Now, going behind the wife’s back without her knowledge or consent is definitely wrong. Jesus said that it was a sin for a man to lust after a women but said nothing about men having natural desires for other men. This gay thing is unnecessarily creating upheaval in the Church. Properly understood, it is no different than the circumcision issue. Is it a sin to be uncircumcised? Of course not. In Christ, whether a man is circumcised or not means nothing. The contentious circumcision issue in the early church is no different than the gay sex issue of the modern church. Gay sex is no different than straight sex. It’s that just for now, one is taboo and the other is socially acceptable.
