Rihanna Shines in New York – Rihanna has never been more popular. She recently tied Lady Gaga for the most number one singles on the pop charts of all time, with her song with Eminem, “Love The Way You Lie,” reaching the number one position on the charts earlier in the week. Now, she is dazzling a sold out crowd in New York as well.

Ke$ha also performed, but Rihanna was easily able to steal the show. Wearing an outfit that was a bit Gothic with a stage show that matched, Rihanna was able to wow the crowd not only with her voice, but with her dance moves as well.

“Is New york in the house?” she asked the sold out crowd when she first got on stage.
She also gave a very saucy performance during her song, “Te Amo,” during which she was accompanied by two very well maintained backup dancers. She showed her guitar skills as well, and also played the drums before performing her rock influenced song “SOS.”

Rihanna’s popularity continues to grow, and it doesn’t look like she is turning back any time soon. While people compare Lady Gaga to Madonna, perhaps they should be taking a closer look at Rihanna, who has become one of the most popular artists of the last decade. The show showed that she is not only a great artist, but a great showman as well. She wowed the crowd with a plethora of different moves, and showed that she is able to play a range of different instruments.
Kanye West who was in the house at his labelmate’s “Last Girl on Earth” tour, cried saying,
“So I went to Rihanna’s concert tonight and when I saw her do ‘I’m so hard, eh eh eh,’ I’m not gonna lie to ya’ll, I might of actually started crying—just to see my little sister onstage with her production and her outfit and her song and rocking Madison Square Garden at her own show sold out .It was a very emotional moment for me and I’m just so proud of her.”
