Lyfe Jennings:Regular Girls Should Not Date Rappers – R&B singer Lyfe Jennings is great philosopher who is always willing to share his wise thoughts with the world.
No too long ago the soulful singer released a new song called “Statistics” where he gave a set of rules and guidelines that black women should live by in order to find a decent man/husband.
Now the Ohio native who is getting ready to unveil his new CD called “I Still Believe” took some time out from his busy schedule to explain why male rappers/actors/celebrities do not date regular girls.
Here is Mr Jennings’ response to the question posed by Necole Bitchie:
I think that man is just attracted to a woman who is free. She’s just living her life and in connection, she makes him feel free too. You have to understand that before coming into the industry, most cats were just regular dudes who never had a chance to get with someone that’s hot like that. And now they can get these chicks that’s just living her life and is live, she makes him live too.
[But you] should actually be flattered by that. Because you are going to attract who you are. This dude might have a great career but he might not be a great person so he is not going to be attracted to a great woman. The Amber Rose, Kat Stacks, etc.. All that is temporary. But that woman that is working hard every day to provide for herself and her family; mentally, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally… that’s forever! Because them tittays are gonna sag one day. Those tittays are going to be down by your belly button one day and you’re gonna need something else to keep your man.
What are your thoughts on Lyfe’s comments?
Do you agree that “regular women” who consider themselves intelligent should stay away from rappers anyway and search for something more meaningful?
Or do you think it is OK to be temporary/disposable like Amber Rose in order to get an opportunity to live the life, enjoy the champagne, the luxurious mansions, the fame and the Gucci/Prada items?
Lyfe Jennings is a very talented artist. Most of his songs have a good message towards young African American women. From telling girls to hold on to their virginity to breaking down rules for black women to follow to get a good man his music is very influential.Visit Urban Belle Magazine, an online magazine for women of color.
I think that it does matter whether a person is a rapper or R&B artist, Before they reached where they are today they were just regular people. It’s all about being true to yourself and love doesn’t come with a fame or a face. Just be u
I agree with you Tish. Love is unconditional. Without agape love, you have nothing but a false kind of love. The kind of love that says “I love you because in stead of the love because you are a child of the Most High King, and he his TRUE LOVE.
I believe a good christian, God Feariing person should not pursue someone with with fame, because when their fame fades, they fade with it. So a good christian should find someone that is equally yoked in the Lord. A relationship with each other in the Lord is everlasting.
True Love cannot be compromised. True Love is the most excellent way.
If rappers are only rapping about things in this world, then the things in this world is his God. All he know to do is to walk by sight, he dosen’t understand walking by faith, what you do not see. What we don’t see is more real than what we see.
Most celebrities has been corrupted by fame or “the broadway” we see and hear everyday about their destructive behavior. This is what Jesus talked about when he said “broad is the way that lead to destruction and narrow is the to eternal life and few there be that find it”.
