Lawrence Taylor Indicted – Lawrence Taylor has officially been indicted on rape and sex abuse charges. He was indicted Wednesday by a New York grand jury on charges of third degree rape and patronizing a prostitute. His lawyer has said that all of the allegations against him are false, and he will prove it in due time.
He was previously charged in Ramapo Town Court, but was transferred to Rockland County. Taylor, who is a popular former New York Giants linebacker, was also indicted on endangering the welfare of a child. He could face up to four years in prison if he is convicted on all counts. He continues to deny the charges against him saying that he thought the girl was older when the alleged incident occurred. She said that she was assaulted by a pimp who drove her over 25 miles to the north on New York , where Taylor was waiting for them in a hotel.
“Mr. Taylor and his legal team made a strategic decision not to present any evidence to the grand jury, including him testifying or any witnesses in his defense,” said defense attorney Arthur Aidala. His strategy has clearly been to keep all of their information under wraps until the trial is underway.
The evidence reportedly includes testimony from another 23 year old woman who says that she was with the young girl and the pimp when they went to the hotel. She said that the girl returned to the car with $300 in hand, and said: “It was weird, we didn’t even have sex.”
