Serena Williams and Common Still Together? – Serena Williams recently broke up with her long time boyfriend, rap artist and actor Common. The 29 year old split from Common, whose real name is Lonnie Rashid Lynn. According to reports they had grown apart. Serena did not appear to be upset by the breakup as she continued to perform very well during the French Open, defeating Swiss player Stefanie Voegele in the first round.
Just a few weeks ago Common told Ellen DeGeneres on her show that he one day would like to marry Williams, prompting a loud applause from the crowd. She had asked common about his future with Williams, and he responded by saying that he definitely saw marriage in the future and would one day like to have kids with her.
Common began his career in as a rapper, but lately he made an almost full time switch to acting, where he may be equally proficient. His movie credits include American Gangster and Smokin’ Aces, both of which were very successful. He also opened up to DeGeneres about how emotionally involved he becomes whenever Williams is playing tennis in tournaments.
“I sit there, and I’m just tense. People try to talk to me, and I tell them to be quiet. I was sitting next to Richard Branson and I didn’t pay attention. I don’t care who is there. I’m focused on this tennis match.”
Serena has been linked in the past to actor Jackie Long and film director Brett Ratner.
Update: according to the latest reports Serena Williams and Common are still together.
