Royce Reed Basketball Wives VH1 – After the highly-anticipated Basketball Wives premiere on VH1 Sunday night, it has everyone asking, who is Royce Reed?
While creator-producer Shaunie O’Neal appeared on the first episode, the five featured women on the show are Royce Reed, Jennifer Williams, Suzie Ketcham, Gloria Govan and Evelyn Lozada – with Jennifer Williams, wife of Eric Williams, being the only one who has actually been a wife. However, Reed seems to be the standout star.
Reed is a former Orlando Magic and Miami Heat dancer and mother of Dwight Howard’s young son. But interestingly enough, neither Howard nor their son is mentioned on the series, due to a so-called legally binding gag order. Rumor has it the basketball star doesn’t get along with the mother of his child and has even banned her from talking about or posting pictures of their son on Twitter.
The pint-sized performer has quickly become a polarizing figure, and was on the receiving end of an intervention from the “wives” after she gyrated a bit too much at a pool party in Miami hosted by football player Terrell Owens and rapper Ludacris.
“It looks bad,” exclaimed Evelyn Lozada. Lozada, who was at the pool party wearing a string bikini and holding a cocktail, said she was concerned it would send the wrong message to her teenage daughter and did not want to be associated with Reed’s behavior.
In December, TMZ.com reported that Howard filed two lawsuits against Reed for damages to his image and increased time with his son. Howard, however, told an Orlando Sentinel reporter that the story was false.
Basketball Wives airs Sundays on VH1 at 10 p.m. ET.

Ok first it’s called basketball wives and I only saw one wife that is about 2 minutes away from a divorce. Royce is sooo cute because she is doing what makes her happy and that’s all that matters. I just recently saw this show. OMG!!! Can anyone say “haters”. They should rename their show “The BBB” That stands for “Bitter Baskeball Bitches”. And to think that they keep hatin’ on Royce trying to make her feel less than them. Wow, Royce is the only one that’s real (hair, breasts, personality, etc.. She is having a good time. And not only that, she is the prettiest one and they know that so they keep gettin’ on her,. I agree money does nt alway sequal class. they all seem very “ghetto-fabulous”. I hope Royce has a good circle of true friends because with friends like that, who needs enemies. Royce is the only one who has it goin’ on. Eric’s wife is just down right ugly. This show is ridiculous. I agree with everyone else. I am rooting for Royce (she will grow) and Gloria (family focused and sound). 1/2/11,Season 2: I’m disappointed in Shauni she appears to be as much of a bitch as Evelyn and Jen. I’m glad Glory told Shauni off and stood her ground. Shauni’s issue is with Gloria’s sister not Gloria. I can’t stand Evelyn, I wish Suzie would kick her ass. Suzie has apologized several times for talking about what happened in Vegas and Evelyn just won’t let it go, she”s the biggest bitch of them all. Royce is no good either because she keeps setting Suzie up to get ambushed by the 3 bitches (Evelyn, Shauni, and Jen). She should have stood in Suzie defense when Evelyn was attacking her when they were at dinner with Royce’s new boyfriend (Dewayne).
