Rev. Run Simmons To Angela:Forget About School,Go Get Money Instead – Rev. Run may be a “pastor” but he’s not preaching to the choir and chooses to run his household unlike the typical priest.
While some mom and dads push their kids going to college a priority, Rev. Run encourages the Simmons clan to think money first, school second.
In a recent interview with XXL .com, the father of six spoke on his son Diggy Simmons’ newfound rap career.
Last week Diggy signed a deal with Atlantic Records after he burst onto the rap scene with a freestyle video where he rhymed over Nas’ classic “Made You Look.”
When asked if he’s worried about Diggy only being 15 years old and choosing to enter the entertainment industry, The Run’s House star said, “Never, I don’t discourage nobody in my house. This is an entertainment house. My daughter Angela was in college, she like, ‘Daddy, I don’t know what to do. I’m getting straight A’s in college, but Pastries it taking off.’ I’m like, ‘Peace college, go take your butt down to the sneaker office and go get that paper… that’s your college… We’ll get back to school,’ Pastries is doing millions.”
Run also added that he was in college when legendary rap group Run DMC became popular.
“I was in college when Run DMC started to hit, but I had to take a leave of absence. I’ve been absent ever since.”
