“I didn’t see ‘Obsessed,’ so I can’t comment” she says “but it’s just not about how talented you are anymore. It’s about, ‘How much box-office revenue will this person generate?’ When you see certain people – we won’t name names – they just don’t have the skill, and no one in their team has said, ‘You need acting classes.’”

I believe Miss Long has hit the nail on the head.Beyonce has a somewhat ok voice.I have some of her earlier cds,but as far as acting goes she could use some pointers from Ciciley Tyson,Lynn Whitfield,Angela Bassett,and not to mention Kimberly Elise just to name a few. I absolutely love Beyonce’. I also love Nia Long in every role. I must admit however, that this has been on a lot of people’s minds for a while. I agree that everything isn’t for everyone. Beyonce’s acting skills are mediocre at best. I can only imagine how discouraged actresses, who have studied the craft for years, must feel when they aren’t given big roles. This is BIG for Nia Long! The music industry is notoriously cut-throat, and film needs to be the same.
I saw the movie Obsessed and I said the very same thing. B needs to stick to singing and dancing. I was not impressed with her role and how well (not) she worked that role. If it was for that fighting scene she wouldn’t even be remembered in the movie. It appeared she had a good role in the movie but she didn’t. I love B in her singing and dancing – so I’m not talking about someone that I don’t like. But let’s stay in our own lane.

I saw obsessesed on boot-leg thanks to a friend’s advice. That movie was GARBAGE. Bey’s acting skills weren’t very skillful at all. Just because you do a little acting in your videos for about 3 min. doesn’t mean you can carry a movie that’s an hour and a half.
