Michelle Obama Alpha Kappa Alpha Member – Michelle Obama is now a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA).Obama has not officially been inducted but has however accepted the invitation to become a member of the first Black Greek Lettered Organization Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. This was announced yesterday in Washington D.C. at their public meeting as they celebrated 100 years of Achievement.The Alpha Kappa Alpha is an organization which has dedicated their service to uplifting people for the past 100 years.

No she is not. Until the person has actually been inducted, she is not a member. She simply accepted the invitation, many people have accepted an invitation, yet not completed the process by being inducted.
Michelle Obama is a Honorary member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. How would you know if she has not been inducted yet. I hope you are a member of that sorority before answer you not sure you are correct about. On the website it said she was inducted !!!!!!!!!!
Truth 08: Please provide the link on the aka1908.org site where it states that First Lady Obama is a member. At their celebration, Barbara McKinzie read a letter in which FL Obama thank them for the invitation but she has not been inducted. If you meet an INFORMED member of AKA, they will tell you that she has not been inducted – unfortunately, some writers who did not understand the membership process did not know the difference between ‘invited’ and ‘inducted’.
Michelle Obama is not a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. If she were, what is it to you? Stop hating, get your information straight, and be more concern about the economy.
Michelle Obama is not a real member of AKA. She didn’t pledge at any college chapter. They offered her an honorary membership during the presidential campaign because of the success of her husband.
The sororities and fraternites do that when they want to be associated with somebodywho has become successful. They try to give the false impression that this successful person had pledged in a college chapter so that they will be able to recruit new pledges.

The organization is a service organization with PLENTY of SUCCESSFUL and FAMOUS women, some who have gone through the process in college and some who are honoary….there are a lot of people who think they know what goes on inside of an organization that they are not apart of, but its okay. Mrs. Obama has not yet been inducted and is not my soror yet. However we will be happy to have her serve in our illustrious sorority when that time comes.
And Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc does not need to advertise; with the help of God it has been standing for 102 years and those who want to join have a respect and an appreciation for our legacy.
It is an insult to imply that any sorority and fraternity would have to recruit individuals that have not willingly wanted to associate themselves with that entity. I agree with the previous comment… let’s focus more on our economy as sororities and fraternities together instead of the back and forth of whether or not 1st lady Michelle Obama has been inducted to be an AKA.
Who cares if First Lady Obama is a soror, inducted or not. She is an extremely busy sister who graciously accepted the invite to become an honorary member. Until then it will happen when she has time. MOVE ON there are more pressing issues to focus on like Healthcare Reform, the Economy,…etc.

If Michele Obama was as bright and smart when she was at university she would have been in one of these nine associations, especially when she became the wife of a senator. you are delusional if you think she was not part of one of the black elite societies. The reason she has hidden it as they are just as bias and segregated as white clubs and associations. That would be a very sticky point for the first lady.
