Terrence Howard GIANT Magazine Cover Picture April/May 2008 Issue
Terrence Howard covers the April/May 2008 issue of Giant magazine.Terrence talked about finding the right woman and male attraction amongst other things. Here are some excerpts of what he had to say.
On finding the right woman:
“It’s so hard to find a good woman who’s gonna help build the family and not be so interested in just building herself. I could be like any other male wannabe celebrity out there and hang out and date a bunch of people. Of course, there’s a beautiful opportunity to be out there and free. Why not eat up all the fruit on the trees? But the end result is that those things bring a dishonor to the family, and I will have served nobody but myself. I’ve sacrificed what I want to do for the sake of my family, and that’s what I need.”
On male Attraction:
Sometimes men are drawn to each other and don’t know how to deal with that. So they think, ‘I must be gay!’ But we hide from the quality that is most prolific in human beings, to express love. God is love. And we remain in his image. Only one other angel is made in his image, and he became Jesus on this earth, his only begotten son. So why is it that we run from love? Why can’t men look at each other in the eye with honesty?”
On raising his kids:
“My father believed in supervision. That’s why my kids are always with me. That’s why I don’t go out. It’s not ‘cause I don’t want to go out. But I don’t know any other creature in nature that leaves their kids with someone else. The bear don’t go to the owl and say, ‘Hey, can you watch my cub?’ No, they stay with their offspring until they’re in a position to do otherwise. I just believe in older values.”
On his role in Ironman:
“Jim Rhodes is one of the first black superheroes that was really given prominence. He even donned the Iron Man suit for a number of years when Iron Man couldn’t do it. Then he became his own individual, War Machine, who,” Howard adds with a sly grin, “was more powerful than Iron Man.”
