Makeda Barnes-Joseph who is the woman who was allegedly shot by Remy Ma has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the rapper.Joseph claimed that Remy Ma shot her twice in the abdomen back in July after Remy accused her of stealing money.According to Reuters:
The suit was filed in Manhattan federal court today (December 21) with Barnes-Joseph charging that Remy Ma “willfully, wantonly and maliciously” shot her.
Barnes-Joseph says she suffered severe physical harm and mental anguish from the shooting. The suit also names Remy’s record labels, Universal Music Group and Sure Shot Recordings.
Barnes-Joseph claims that the labels encouraged Remy to ‘engage in violent behavior’ to strengthen her well documented volatile image.
Remy was initially charged with attempted murder but prosecutors dropped the charges to third degree assault after evidence revealed that the gun went off accidentally.
The artist is free on a $250,000 bond, and has denied the assault charges.
this is ridiculous this makeda girl has falsely accused Remy. Witness say that Remy doesn’t even carry a pistol and that she didn’t shoot makeda. There were at least 40 other people crowding around Remy and Makeda when Makeda threatnd Remy and told her that she did not still the suposingly stolen $3,000 out of her purse Makeda threw her purse at Remy and told her that she can check it herself and that’s why Remy was dumping things out of Makeda’s purse. Also, Makeda and Remy didnt get into an argument in any type of vehicle they were arguing in the street. In also Makeda did have Remy’s purse earlier that night holding it for her….so……aint no telling were the money went but i kno Remy didnt shoot her.
I dont believe it either. Makeida is just looking for a come up, and remy was the victim. How would u feel if some one stold ur hard earn money.
