Oprah Winfrey has been honored by the Producers Guild of America with the 2008 Stanley Kramer Award for the new Denzel Washington film “The Great Debaters .
The Producers Guild has recognized Oprah for shedding light on social issues.
Winfrey and the other producers Todd Black, Kate Forte and Joe Roth will receive the award on Feb. 2 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.Kate Forte said:
“Oprah and I are very proud of this film and honored to receive the PGA’s Stanley Kramer Award,” “‘The Great Debaters’ has been a labor of love and we are grateful to be recognized in this way.”
“Hotel Rwanda,” “An Inconvenient Truth” “Good Night, and Good Luck,” “Antoine Fisher” and “I Am Sam” have all previously received the Stanley Kramer Award .
