Creflo Dollar,Bishop Eddie Long and four other religious ministries are being investigated for alleged financial wrongdoing .
The top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee ,Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa launched the investigation on Monday.
Grassley explained that he is simply following up on complaints from the public and media coverage.And added that the allegations involved governing boards that allow big salaries and housing allowances and amenities such as private jets and Rolls Royces.
Dollar released a statement saying :
that he will comply with the orders and that his church has complied with the IRS for more than a decade. Dollar said his life and ministry have always been an open book.

It’s funny. b/c when one tries to throw up the BS flag on one of these churches, why is it that people get so up in arms. These people are crooks, preying on the weak, giving them false hope in order to take their money.
Obviously all of you who are so quick to be up in arms concerning this situation dont have the true concept of true christianity. I’d go as far as to even say you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. It is the law of the KINGDOM of God, not the U.S of A to give just 10% of your income to be used to increase the Kingdome of God. Now I look at those above ministries and see the amazing, many times untold works they do in communities and around the world. You complain that members of their congregation are poor but you can’t baby feed people who are not ready for change to recieve help in the way you think it should be given. I’m not rich but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to give to the ministry God has placed me under. I’m not saying all pastors use money legit, but whos to say? and if so….thats between them and God, not man. Regardless of whether these men have used their ministry funds to create business, so what? God is blessing their businesses, bringing in more for their ministries.
Read your bible people, the blessings given to the Jews via Abraham, Isaac and Jacob belong to the children of God through the saving and adopting blood of Jesus Christ. They’re walking in true financial blessing.
Now I do disagree with the way alot of these preachers tell us to give and we’ll recieve a blessing or healing and in that aspect I understand what you mean. But the concept in the Word of God is that when you give to the Lord faithfully, He will increase you faithfully and unfortunately were easily lured into thinking God is a pimp we give well recieve tomorrow and so when it doesnt work, we believe these preachers are conning us. They as men and women never promise us anything, but from the word of God, they preach increase because the Word of God when walked out and not just ‘hoped’ out is so, so real.
why on earth would people become worked up about preachers being wealthy, live in great masnions and all but when a thief, politicians, businessmen live in bigger and better houses nobody bothers.

Why do people feel that God’s people should be broke and living in proverty?? Why is it okay for 50 cent, Jay Z, Beyonce and all those other’s secular folks to prosper, but not the ones that are following the will of GOD?? Where in the bible does it talks about God’s people being poor??? When I leave this earth i’m looking forward to my Mansion..I may not have it now, but i’m truly blessed with my health, strength, good job and I owe it all to my God..The bible clearly states whatever you sow will be reaped..These pastor has sown a lot into people lives and they are reaping those benefits..No one knows what they had to go through to get where they are today..To me it sounds like a testimony to me!!!! I will continue to pay my 10% out of each check because that’s in the word..Whatever the church does with that money is on them..I do know this..The sameones that yall are persecuting are the ones feeding the hungry, going to other countries preaching the gospel and opening up youth centers in AMERICA..On the day of judgement God will tell them Job well done my good and faithful servent, but what will he tell you???
If God who made everything that exists is your father, then wealth is just a mere natural result of being faithul to Him. Its also natural that those who are not your brothers and sisters be doubtful and jealous of your prosperity. So I think that everything is going on just as it should; the haters are doing what they do best, and the lovers are doing as is expected of them, prospering. Now I know that I don’t have a mansion yet, no helicopters or a car, but even living in Kenya will not prevent these things from coming my way. I know whom I believe in. Bottom line – just know who you worship and stop thinking about other people’s lives, there’s no time for envy. Life is short!
I also understand how the numbers work. These preachers are business men brothers and sisters. They have tapped into a marketing strategy to make money off of the desire of people who are looking for a way to get out of poverty. A job want do, the government want do. They believe the word will do it just by listen and following them. If they were running a corporation that corporation would make billions, and the shareholder who invest would make a profit also.
No I don’t have a problem with them having a nice home, cars and other wealthy things. But I do have a problem with the method in which they get them.
They are using the word of God as the latest hit. The more people buy into what they are saying the larger the profits is for them.

I agree that those who commit themselves to GOD will be blessed, but doesn’t the shepherd take care of his flock more than himself. These leaders/individuals may have started off on the track of faith, but have turned somewhere else. Granted “Vengenance is the Lord’s” but in the text of being our brothers keepers, isn’t it our job to educate our sisters/brothers on being good stewards.

I have been deep into Kenya and I will tell you first hand that they have a lot more faith than most Americans!
By saying that God’s people should be financially prosperous instead of simply provided ,we place God in a position of displaying favoritism! God loves us all the same! He does not have favorites!!! Money is no more a sign of faith in God than wearing a suit to Church makes you a Pastor.
There are poor people in this world because of greed!!! Truth be told, there are enough rich people in this world to end world hunger and homelessness, but greed is their God. unfortunately, these Pastor’s are paddling in the same boat.
Love must drive the Christian, not possessions!!!

We must choose! God’s riches cannot be properly expressed in this world! That is why He said not to store up riches in this world where moth and rust corrupts, but rather store our riches in heaven. That is where my riches are!!!

It is highly amusing to see people devoted and brainwashed by these idols or false gods. Are there any enlightened individuals out there! If you research the canonnization(putting together of the Bible) of the Bible you will find a wealth of information that these preachers or infallible men of god will never share with you. Information on when the Bible was finally finished; who ordered it to existence; which gospels were chosen; and who actually wrote them. The so-called infallible men of god will not tell you none of this. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, some of the original gospels were not written by them. Mark is called the source closely related to the gospel Q. The real difference is that the gospel of Mark is in a Narrative form, rather than expository(Gospel Q). Also, Mark did not come until 50 to 100 years after Jesus’ death. The other three gospels (Matthew, John, and Luke) are known as synoptic gospels (ask most any preacher about synoptics).
Jesus was never a Christian!
Paul, in Galatians, started Christianity. Furthermore, Christianity started because grown men did not want to get circumcised. Its in your Bible in Galatians the first chapter.
Lastly, religion is a divisive animal that does not bring all together, but only those who choose to follow that mans path of how god only chose him to deliver his message.

In other words, who cares what man says. Who do you say I am? Period. Either you believe or you do not. I believe that most preachers start out in the right way and for the right reasons; because they love God. Somehow along the way, the spirit becomes entangled and seduced by the desires of this world instead of the desires of God. They get caught up, losing their focus and way, all the while screaming the virtues of living a God-fearing life filled with the love of money and all of the things creep in the night. The bold ones don’t creep. They are unabashedly open in their lasciviousness. They bring their women into the church, perhaps giving her a salary. Or perhaps he brings his long suppressed need of male companionship under the guise of an armor bearer, that male that takes care ALL of the Pastor’s needs. Perhaps he’s on prescription or street-drugs or is physically and emotionally abusive to his wife or the female pastor to her husband and children.
The bible teaches “There is NOTHING new under the sun”. Jesus has seen it all from before the beginning. What is disheartening is that a great deal of good is being done in this country as well as around the world, whether it is in the store or office front start-up church with a hand full of faithful followers all the way to the mega-churches that have professionally produced multiple sessions each Sunday seeing people in shifts to ensure they collect all that is capable of being gleaned from the masses, as they tell them “Yes, Jesus loves ya!!!! And I do too! Give God the money! Prove that you love God! Do IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
And the sad, the empty, the needy and the hopeless do as instructed, every Sunday, without fail. Yet GOD sees it all. And at the appointed time, GOD will make his judgment know thought this and every land. With out a doubt.
And most of these Prosperity Preachers will be the first to burst HELL wide open. Hopefully, they will be there to greet too many of their followers.
These men are called of God to teach His word. Wealth is in the house of those who walk uprightly, God promises that in the Bible. If Creflo Dollar or these other wealthy ministers didn’t have integrity concerning money, God would make sure they didn’t prosper. God has all kind of ways of doing that.
These men of God who God uses to be a blessing to other people also have businesses on the side which has nothing to do with what church people give to the church. Would it make the critics happy if these men of God just stopped helping and being a blessing to the community and just live lavishly with the money they make just like any other wealthy business man? Critics against men of God who God prospers are so ignorant. You have a problem with that, go complain to God about it. See how that works out for you….sinner.
By the way, I have insider info from back in the year 2000 when Creflo’s monthly tv bill was near 4 million dollars. His monthly electricity bill for the church property was 400,000 dollars. And you think he’s hogging all the money. No way he meets those bills if he didn’t have integrity. Critics need to be honest with themselves, you’re broke because you continually walk in sin and you’re a hater toward those who God blesses because of their obedience to God. That’s reality. Deal with it quietly, instead of running your mouth. You might find yourself getting dealt with by God himself. Learn that.
God told me to give $50 to Kenneth Copeland Ministries (Bro. Dollar’s “spiritual father”) when I had been praying concerning us needing a miracle finding a new house the one we wanted for the money we had…I agreed, but did not have $50-so because of my husband and mine involvment in our local church-the next day-we recieved a check from them as a “Thank you from God, for our faithfulness” etc. WOW!!!God pays for what He orders, Amen? So, I mailed the check we made covenant with the Copeland Ministries by reading all scriptures that came in mail and signed our namesand put check with this, this means something to us, and God, I believe, not because we put our faith in Bro. Copeland but because we put our faith in God!! and HE delivers, My husband and my faith was engaged, and he ,being led by his spirit man, e-mailed a random realator, who immediatley e-mailed us back(all the same night-people) we scheduled to come look at our house that weekend and closed within a very short period of time….We now live in a 5 bedroom 3 bath. house with everything we could possible want…..not near what our Master is making for us even as we speak, we will live in those soon……My God shall supply all my need according to HIS RICHES in glory THRU CHRIST JESUS!!!!I am a new creation, and I don’t have to live in houses that are run down and nasty, amen? God honors obedience, and that person will reap, if he is giving to God and not the pastor….it’s scriptual, and it works……

We all want a blessing, because we all would like a good life, friends, family, children prospering, a nice home. Why should chistians live in squallor or standard homes. god blesses and the cup can spill right over. When i wanted to move out of my state appartment god gave me TWO great homes for free,i had to pay but he delivered, he dusted be down found me a great job. This was when i was just saved. i was faithful, be how faithful is creflo- give him two mansions- if he cound travel state to state by car, train he would. I’m sure he has done so in the past. to reach more people he has up/ped his means of transport. The parable of the 3 servants- one hid the masters money -buried it-the others multiply it. Christians like the others invest/creflo multiply HIS money. Does god my father want me to be poor? why would he ? As christians we should be jealous of one another- wait for our own blessing. I do not follow any of these ministers and do not know much about them, but I do know that there is not one person who faithfully sits under creflo dollars ministry that is in poverty. Also do you know that he was born into more money than he will ever make from his ministry. People are so quick to judge let God do that and most of the time they do not know from what they speak. Even the other ministers know one’s perfect and what the people perceives of them does not mean that they are not anointed. People need to worry about their own souls salvation.

In the last day’s he will pull out all the stops, he will be able to deceive even the very elect. He also answers prayers. So be careful what you consider to be a blessing and where you think your blessings are coming from. If you are more worried and concerned about obtaining and gaining material and worldly possessions and money, your are definitely not on the right track. Eternal salvation should be our number one priority not what we drive, how big our house is, or how big and massive a church is. Salvation is not in the building or material possessions, it’s in “Yeshua”

My family and i are furvent watchers of creflo, joyce, jesse, and copeland and never have i seen such dynamic servents of God, that want nothing more for the world, than to come to know the Christ that was sent to save us. Many people dont realize that the messages that they preach, teach you how to achieve true prosperity in your life. We in this country have adopted a mentality of bondage. these ministers are free and truely free from all that the world would subject them to. you criticize the men and women of God for what they have. if i am not mistaken, the bible says that whatever you ask in my name shall be given. I have just recently started watching Paster Dollar and I have to say his messages have been very inspirational and to the point. I am a preachers daughter from Georgia now living in PA and I grew up in Northwest GA in a lot of poverty and where it seemed as if it would have been wrong to live a blessed life. All I ever heard was if a Preacher had money they must be taking it from the people. It has taken sometime to see this money issue in a different light because of the lying,cheating and everything else ungodIy that I grew up seeing in church. I personaly think that the way Dollar and his family lives is between them and God. Even though I’m sitting here right now having a major cash flow problem in my business and really don’t know whats going to happen next financially I still look at Pastor Dollar and his family and think good for them!!! A lot of people don’t see the money that goes out to help others in a Ministry or all the behind the scenes cost. God didn’t intend for us to be broke we wouldn’t take financial advice from a homeless person then why would we except Spiritual Guidance from someone who is struggling to get there life in order and is broke. Unfortunatly, there is seems to be a lot jealousy and envy. Maybe Dollars Jet is nicer than the Senators oh yea he AIN’t GOT ONE!!! People who have spoken ill or comment on other christian brothers and sisters who may be prospering in every area of their lives are often blind to see the simple truths of scriptures.
my only comment to them is for them to go back to the scriptures and remove all the prosperity verses of the bible and even God’s promises to us and then go with the what’s left and try to teach the whole world their revelation. Why do people want Jesus to be portraited as a Poor Man. what would it gain to should a rich man how to live this life as a rich person. that’s to easy, in our struggle one would say well Jesus you did it cause you were RICH- NO he proved that money could not get you in Heaven. He had to become poor to show us how people like us can live Sin Free. Some of the Pastor and Leader are over doing it. But I can’t condem all rich Pastors. the government ask us to be poor and take it but they refuse to feed the poor and sick. Now they want to look at the Mega Ministries for the cash that they have stolen from US. Drugs, Gambling, and everything is coming here by way of GOVERNMENT. the church needs to Wake up and do what they are called to do. Preach and Help People find Christ.

Jesus, being a Jew, was part of the covenant of Abraham. All of the covenant men of God in the Old Testament were prosperous. The blessing of God was on their lives. Consider Abraham: “Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold” (Gen 13:2). Why would Jesus be any different?
Do we try to justify our current financial condition by saying that Jesus was poor? Do we judge the Word of God by our experiences?
Look at the gifts that the wise men brought to Him at His birth! Gold, frankincense, and myrrh! All of which were very valuable! Now consider if you were one of the wise men! How much of these things would you be trying to give to the Messiah? Then the scriptures tell us that Jesus made Himself poor so that others might be rich in faith. He was a master carpenter also, so I’m sure He was capable of making a pretty hefty living. I believe He used all of His wealth for the preaching of the gospel. As for His seamless tunic, it was the same garment of a high preist, if you do your studying of preist clothing,
Many people care about money, but God cares about the heart. He left His home in Heaven and came to earth to see if there were any who cared about God. He found a few, then he went and got a job preaching. The preacher is worthy of his hire, Jesus said. Before that, He was a carpenter, and carpenters were rich not. Master carpenters did work for men who were rich, and Jesus did work for anybody. His work must have been perfect, for He was perfect. Scripture says He had His own house. Many people remember His seamless robe. Was not that from God? Turtledoves were also offered for perfection, not just for economy. Praise God.

Wake up Christian’s !! God wants to use you. He wants to use you in this particular way, to change the world . Peace.
I want more of it. I crave it actually.
I love the verse that says, “For He Himself is our peace…” So praying for more peace in my life means praying for more of Him in my life.

I think often of the storm at sea in Mark 4, and how Jesus quieted it with His command: “Peace! Be still!” Jesus spoke peace, but peace was already there. Because He is peace.
With Jesus in the boat, the disciples already had peace in the middle of the storm. But they wanted peace without the storm. And Jesus gave that to them; He calmed the wind and waves. But then He looked at them and said, “Don’t you have any faith at all?”
Woah.
Maybe He was telling them that faith doesn’t mean trusting for miraculous rescue from the storm. But rather it means enduring the storm, knowing that Peace is right there with them.
Maybe He’s telling me the same thing.
Jesus was rich, He had the best clothes, had houses and everyone was attracted to him. Numerous Scriptures are used to validate a prosperous Jesus one who had the best of everything. The Bible says this “For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him…” Isaiah 53:2-3.
The scriptures present Jesus as average in appearance and prominence. Not only did He not attract from his outward appearance but he also lowly in His dress and demeanor. Isaiah describes as a man we wouldn’t recognize as important if we saw Him on the street. The fact that Judas had to identify him for the arresting party shows us that he looked similar to the other regular Jewish men of his time
There was no outward attraction by appearance or status that they should desire Him, he did not dress in the finest clothes. None of his disciples followed Him because of any promise of earthly prosperity as he was asking them to leave all. He did not tell them to do something that He Himself did not do.
To a rich young man Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 19:21-23)
In Luke’s account 18:22-23 Jesus said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.”
Jesus did not tell the man to keep his riches to follow him or that after he gives them away he would replenish them. He was concerned with the man having riches in heaven, not in this earthly life. Notice, Jesus used this event to teach his disciples a lesson, that it is extremely hard for those with riches to come into the kingdom because they cannot let go of them. This goes contrary to Jesus being rich or any type of prosperity message people may conclude form the Scriptures.
I believe Dr.Dollar & Bishop Long are true obedient apostles of God.If you watch them on t.v., you will understand that what they preach about God and breaking down each scripture in the bible is truelly God speaking through them.Whenever you get on top and you get a name for yourself, people start to hate and become jeolous of you, who you are and what you have and this is the situation that we are in today.Instead of bring down these great people in ministry,the world should be lifting them up and seeing the difference they are making in the world.This is just a sign of the devil trying to take his wrath on God’s chosen apostles but God will overcome and get the victory.

Brothers and sisters….when the scripture talks about prosperity it doesn’t mean financial necessarily……when you are a Pastor/ Deacon/ Elder/ on a Board of Directors we are serving our Beloved Lord Jesus and other Christians first. WE are last. We should be above reproach!!! Why- because we serve our Lord. Even the Apostle Paul says even in my freedom in Christ I will not do certain things so as to not cause another to sin…..that’s putting other’s first. When you are a Pastor aren’t you the greatest of servants and a role model on how to live the Christian life? Shouldn’t you be accountable to other elders and the Christians in your church? How can all these Christians have million dollar houses, jets, etc.? To be above reproach means even if I make lots of money from my “book deals” I will live modestly so as to not cause the church to look bad or for unbelievers to think Christians are shady. I don’t pass judgement but the Lord already has and he will clean house from all these mega church Pastors and preachers that ruin the gospel and christianity with their greed. God help us!!!!!
There are many comments that is made for and some are against and some are unsure. We are all about saying this or that…but the real questions was not asked of any person and those questions should be; where are we in our faith? Money, Power, Fine Cars, Homes, etc., are not faith but instruments that will linger here on earth long after those who own them are gone. It is true that almost every church in every city operates as a business. Here is what we all should see; a man called by God to preach the gospel to the flock that is before him. He must be a down-to-earth leader and not full of fine wear(s), live a simple and honest life; caring for those in needs rather than accepting it; full of spirts where those that asked for help in time of needs and those who are willing to give to the needs of other. A man called to preached must be an “Odained” Preacher and laying of hands must be administered. Many men was called, some was not accepted, and some just went; God only took those he called! We all have a habit of citing striptures about situations but we never begun to understand that we must not follow man words….rather, we must follow the words from the Bible, KJ, NIV, etc.,. Those that follow the words of God will not wonder into places or church where you nothing but fashion shows on a daily basis; women wearing short clothing and showing what they have and sitting unappropriated right in front of the man who is so called a Preacher. When you or I see a Preacher, Bishop, Rev, etc., dressing in appearence that his flock attention is poise on him or her. You better realize that you are in the wrong place. Mega-Churches…coming to claim many followers and when you actually feel you are not getting the word of God, but elected to stay to be either part of the flock because of the name of that Chruch, or the name of the person preaching there; you too…are in the wrong place. Finally, don’t forget what happen to all those who follow a “so-called” preacher name “Jim Jones”, no one of his flock knew he was planning their death until the final day came. Because of the alertness of a few…they realize the situation they were in and fled in the middle of the night running and walking miles to the nearest city of Guyana. The very next day, over some 900 bodies was found dead either by drinking the so called “cool-aid” and some even shot while trying to leave. Oh, don’t forget Congressmen Ryan from California who died along with part of his staff. Think about it very wise and closely, have your life changed since this economy has taken a beating and can you continue to five generously like you once did. Also, how are your Preacher living, eating and dressing while you can no longer be among the finest of the finest. Have you reached out for help and have you gotten it so you can be able to maintain your life you once had. The 900 deaths in Guyana asked themselves that same questions and for some it was indeed to late. You might be thinking that all of the money you gave to these Mega Chruches….the chance are your Preachers are wearing it and driving and living in it!

Many of the posts here have validity on both parts HOWEVER God speaks and that is where truth lies. I recall a rich man being addressed and the poor. Would God bless ones of His who live “excessively”? That is for each one to seek that answer and then pray accordingly as the Holy Spirit leads. Not to cast blame or uncover one to flaunt that ones sin but PRAY!!! PRAY!!! PRAY!!! God said “all” things done in secret/dark will be brought to light/exposed! Abraham was blessed, David was blessed, Solomon was blessed, Christ was not poor either,Christ came for a mission which He fulfilled,He didn’t need earthly wealth,He wouldn’t have a wife and kid, He is all sufficient and has the authority to supply all needs and above all Christ wasn’t a man as we are, He came in the image of a man. God said in the bible, “I wish above all that ye prosper and be in good health,also as thy soul prospereth”. So don’t be deceived who says prosperity is forbidden for all children of God. If God was not interested in our wealth then He wouldn’t say in the book of Isaiah 45:3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness,And hidden riches of secret places,that you may know that I,the Lord,who call you by your name,Am the God of Isreal”. So instead of you all busy criticising why don’t you think positively and make wealth!!!!!!

I give faithfully my tithes every Sunday, Not to church but to God, the church I give to his mearly one of his many houses, I give, not because a preacher tells me to, but because God through his word, the bible, the God inspired book tells me too. However, I praise God for preachers such as Creflo, Joyce, The Copelands and many more for helping me have a deeper understanding of Gods word and the principles of sowing and reaping.
If we truly trust God we wouldn’t care how his annoited spent the money as God will judge each and everyone of us. Give thought to to this, for the little time these people have to spend at home,(because of their workloads) why shouldn’t they have the blessings of God and why not follow the same Godly principles they followed to get the wealth they have now, I can assure you I am much richer than they when I purchase a CD, DVD or a book or watch their broadcast as its God who speaks to me through them. I don’t have a plane because I don’t need one. I would love a mansion and a fancy car and one day will have them and I will do it and achieve this by diligently following the word or God and listening to the above preachers, so please don’t be offended with me when I do, give praise to God when he blesses me.
The funny thing is that nobody realizes that Creflo Dollar does not even take a salary from his church. He makes all hos money from business and real estate. So since when is it wrong for an already wealthy man to minister the gospel. Have you seen his giving reports. He gives more money away to people in need than anybody that has commented on this forum combined. Christians are the only group of people that don’t protect or restore their own.

Corrupt money motivated Sunday paycheck preachers have committed fraud through using the Bible to lie about the tithe, the parable of the sower and other scriptures in the Word of God in order to generate money. In regards to tithing, the question is not what is someone’s opinion or interpretation of Malachi 3:10. The question is what does the Word of God say about Malachi 3:10 and other scriptures concerning the tithe? The Word of God is the truth and the Word of God addresses tithing. The tithe command in the Bible was part of the law, which was given by God to the Israelites through Moses. The tithe command had to do specifically with the produce of the land and the livestock (not money). The tithe can be found in the Old Testament (Leviticus 27:30-34) (Numbers 18:20-32) (Deuteronomy 14:22-29).The tithe command can be found in the New Testament (Hebrews 7:5). In Matthew 23:23, Jesus spoke of the Scribes & Pharisees tithe of the produce of the land (mint, anise & cummin). In Luke 11:42 Jesus spoke of the Pharisees tithe of the produce of the land (mint, rue and all manner of herbs). The Israelites followed the LAW which required them to tithe the produce of the land and the livestock as stated in Deuteronomy 14:22-29 and Malachi 3:7-12. There are no percentages placed upon the giver, as shown by Jesus in Mark 12:41-44 as the poor widow gave all she had to the temple treasury. The rich gave to the temple treasury out of their abundance in Mark 12:44, also proving that there are no percentages placed upon the giver. The temple treasury is where the money was given and the people gave freely to the temple treasury. There were no percentages for the giver. The tithe was a food program designed to feed the Levites, strangers to the land, the fatherless and the widows, as stated in Deuteronomy 14:29. The tithe consisted of the Israelites giving 10% of their produce of the land and the livestock. Hebrews chapter 7 verse 5 states: And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham. Numbers chapter 18 verse 21 states (God speaking to Aaron): And behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. How do you give money? FREEWILL GIVING, which has NO PERCENTAGE placed upon the giver, as shown by Jesus in Mark 12:41-44 as there were NO PERCENTAGES placed on those giving to the treasury, and also stated by the Apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 9:7, as Paul said “EVERY MAN according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver”. The Apostle Paul said that no one is to give out of necessity, which is the Greek word anagke (an-ang-kay’), which is defined as constraint, and a person is not to give out of having constraints placed on them to give. People are under no command to give any other way than as they purpose in their hearts to give as God has prospered them. The Apostle Paul did not teach the tithe and there are no records in the New Testament showing that the Apostle Paul paid tithes to anyone while following Jesus Christ, and there are no records in the New Testament of anyone in the Church of Jesus Christ paying tithes to anyone, or taking tithes from anyone. The reason that the tithe was not taught was because the tithe is not for the Church. The tithe is for the Levites, Levite priests and the Israelites and this is proven in the Word of God. Sunday paycheck preachers who place an obligation on Christians to pay them tithes are going totally against the Word of God through teaching their lies, and scamming people out of money, just as people were scammed out of their money through lies by Bernie Madoff, the Enron executives, and numerous others. Ministers of Satan will ultimately have to answer to Jesus Christ as stated by Jesus Christ in Matthew Chapter 7, verses 15 through 23.
Scanning through this, I noticed something about those who are defending a televangelist scam artist, saying he’s entitled to enrich himself by using fear to motivate listeners to donate. Those who are defending this fraud use very poor grammar and misspell very simple words.
Some may think that the inability to master basic spelling and grammar may signal an inability to discern a difference between serving God and using God’s service to make oneself rich. Saying that he’s doing “God’s work” and therefore deserves to be rich shows a fundamental inability to understand the basic message of Christianity, but then again, someone who doesn’t know the difference between ‘their’, ‘they’re’ and ‘there’ is a prime target for a fraud who intends to take money from a fool’s pocket and put it in his own.

God will not continue to bless a person if he’s stealing from Him and deceiving His people. I can appreciate the teachings from Dr. Dollar because he gives you a word, shows you scriptures in the bible to apply to the word, and gives you practical steps on how to apply it to your everyday life! It don’t get any better than that. As a result of applying the Word of God to my life I’ve experience increases, favor, blessing, all the time. I’ve made it a lifestyle. So we laugh at the ignorance of some, because you can never make a comment unless you yourself has witness the ministry, sat up under the teachings, and have experienced it for yourself, and not from he said she said! Personally I would never go to a church led by a poor pastor. A church with a rich pastor and poor members is pretty bad. But a ministry that has educated, wealthy members is dif. Nobody is gonna tell me what I can and cannot do with my money. If cutting it up and throwing in the trash brings me results then that’s my business.
There aint nothing worst than a poor assed minister trying to tell me how to prosper and live when he shaking inside about his bill’s. I just can’t believe that some people base their whole lives and ministries on putting other pastors down. Creflo Dollar has helped millions of people, including myself, to know God, to believe in our God given authority and to find our God given purpose. I am closer now to God then I have ever been. I dare any of you critics to read his books and apply the BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES that he teaches on. The results are amazing, and I’m not just talking about financial prosperity. I’m talking about inner peace, patience, forgiveness, and a whole lot more. You people fail to realize that Solomon and even Jesus himself were not poor. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. You people wouldn’t dare say that these two people (or maybe I should say one person and God himself) were false prophets. What you people are doing is not Biblical at all. The Bible says beware of false prophets. Nowhere does it say start a website or ministry or base your lives on talking bad about them. The Bible also says that you should know a prophet by his fruits. Again I don’t mean just financial success, I mean all other fruits of the spirit. You guys are upset because he drives a Rolls but fail to see how many souls he has brought to God. One thing that is more important to God than feeding the poor is saving souls. If God is real (which I have no doubt that he is) then let him be the judge surely he will get what he deserves?! God is just and fair. Surely he shouldn’t prosper if he is blaspheming?!
Creflo Dollar is my inspiration, he changed my life and GOD’s wisdom made him to be who he is today. If you search the kingdom of God first than all things … Creflo is a given man of GOD, there is no question about him, the way he preach is amazing and he make use of practical examples based on our diarly life.

people, you all have to live everything to God. His the only one to judge His servants He place before you. You all ought to give you all tithes and offerings. it is stated in the Bible. ex READ (Numbers18:25 to32) (verse28 God was speaking to Mose about the tithes that was gived to him in the church from the children of Israel. ‘ Thus you shall also offer a heaven offering to the Lord from all the tithes which you receive from the children of Israel, and you shall give the Lord’s heaven offering from it to Aron the priest.’

Dr. Fred Price even said that you don’t have to tithe but you can if you so chose. We don’t even read the word for ourselves but we think that just because that person is in the spot light being on tv that he is legit. What was said in the book of Malachi was not for us. In my younger days I use to belong to COGIC, We didn’t have nothing growing up, people around the church spoke in tongues,but didn’t seem to going anywhere. We went to church 6 and 7 days out of the week, we only did things in the church as kids, people always told I was going to be preacher, I didn’t want that, because all the people I knew, didn’t have nothing, and that’s the life I didn’t want. Parents never came to see me play ball, run track, it was church 100%. Until I went to a bapist church, they were behind there kids in every thing,When I got saved when I was 13 people only told me, I know right from wrong now I can go to hell, but no every told me the goodness of God, and that he love us, and that the power of God lives in us and thats what igot from Creflo Dollar, the spirit that lifted Jesus up is in me. I am yet to find a minister or anyone to show me in the scriptures where christians are obligated to tithe.. the death of christ released us from the burden of the law, tithes were a part of the law given to the Israelites, the early fathers..Christ apostles did not pay tithes, the scriptures clearly showed that the congregations were supported by voluntary donations, Paul said that “each one must give as he resolves in his own heart, (not 10%) not out of compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver” he also spoke about giving so that an equalizing might take place.. that the plenty of some will offset the deficciency of those with little.. within these prosperity ministries there are a few that gain from the contribution of tithes..they live extravagant lifestyles, while the majority of their congregation live a mediocre lifestyle.. that is quite contrary to what the scriptures teaches.. the truth is an equalizing does not take place .. the love of money and greed is a very dangerous thing it erodes ones conscience as to ethics and fellow feeling ..it consumes people.. when anyone who support these ministries can show me an e.g of a christian in bible times who attain wealth through recieving tithes then they can try and defend these materialistic organizations that fleeces their congregation in order to maintain their private Jets and various multi million dollar mansions and their a/c homes for their dogs etc…

It’s really amazing how the world is backwards. I thought state didn’t get involved with religion. Politicians are investigating black ministers because…..If they spent more time wondering why the government has spent trillions of dollars and the poor in America are homeless and hungry they wouldn’t prey on the blessings that God has given ministers. Of course they are going to be wealthy. They are doing the work of God and His word says I will poor out blessings from heaven until you won’t have a place to store it. If the politicians were spirit filled they would know why these ministers are wealthy. Rock stars/rappers are wealthier than ministers. And they sell worldly music to our children who are black and white. Leading them astray and having them become gang bangers and doing drugs. But when a man of God decides to lead people to heaven it’s a problem. The politician and people who are complaining are jealous/envious because they don’t have what these ministers have. People who are Christians will give their 10% because of the law of the bible. It is not our will but God’s will to do. People can give their money to whom they please. Everyone has their own minds. If the politicians want to help someone they need to feed the hungry in the U.S. Why is it so hard to get your Disability when you become disabled or to get food stamps and money when you become unemployed.
Why do you think the world is suffering now with all the disasters? Because the government has been cheating people out of what is rightfully theirs. We were slaves for years before Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr, decided to fight for our freedom. But in reality we still are slaves of the mind. When drugs entered into the black community to hold our men down so they couldn’t think to be able to function. Mind slavery. Majority of the black men are in prison due to crimes due to drugs. Black Men stand up and leave the mind altering drugs alone so you can see what’s going on before it’s too late. We need to hep our children and our children’s children. As far as the ministers are concern, God doesn’t like it when you mess with His people who are doing His will. I’m sure you won’t find anything wrong with their finances. God said in His Word, “IF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND SERVE HIM THAT HE WILL POOR OUT BLESSINGS FROM HEAVEN”. So if want to be blessed financially like Creflo Dollar, Bishop Eddie Long, Joyce Meyers, Joel Olsteen, I can go on. Humble yourself before God and stop harassing those who love the Lord. I love God and I talk with Him each day. He is good all the time and all the time He is good.

I just cannot believe that we as believers are still being deceived. Satan is the accuser/deceiver of the bretheren. We have allowed a toe hold to become a stronghold when in fact if we recognize his tactics and not be ignorant to/of his devices we would know the truth. We are to be approved workers rightly dividing the word of truth. So all you haters who are mad about the kingdom of God prospering according to the word and the will of God check out the Berean church in Acts they searched the scriptures to see what the apostles were teaching and preaching was the truth. We ought to know hirelings from those who have been called into the five fold ministries. Every time they give of their time and treasures to God no one knows but God he is the rewarder of them who diligently seeks him. Our job as members of the body are to pray for those who labor over the flock. so we can begin to live in peace. So why is it so unbelievable that these men of God and all those who have a heart for ministry not to be first partakers of their crop. I’m not a member of neither churches but am a member of the body of christ and I wish above all things that we all would prosper as our souls prosper. Imagine if we would pay more attention to bible study and sunday school teachings what an impact we would make in the earth. It is more to christianity than sitting in church on sundays and thereafter allowing the enemy to snatch the little that we receive and not allow God’s word to take root. When are we gonna get hungry and thirsty after righteousness – WE SHALL BE FILLED? Seek the kindom of God and you will see the KING. Not making excuses but being led by the Spirit of God who will lead us into all truth.
If you are a New Testament giver, none (not even the leader) will have abundance while others in the congregation are in financial need. We should all be prosperous. The leader has more because so many are giving to him or her. Even the poor and needy feel that they are obligated to give to the rich leader. Give as you purpose in their heart, which is your business. Continue to help make them rich and prosperous. If this is your pastor, it could be that he or she will give to you out of their abundance if you are ever had a need.

The bible is clear about giving back to God a tenth of your incomes and whatever is done with the money has nothing to do with us. Tithing is an Old Testament concept. The tithe was a requirement of the law in which all Israelites were to give 10 percent of everything they earned and grew to the Tabernacle/Temple (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5)
Paul states that believers should set aside a portion of their income in order to support the church (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Now I find that giving to “G-d” is not because you decided to magically teleport money up into heaven so G-d can buy himself something in heaven. But, an act that money isn’t everything. We are willing to give something that we got from G-d. So we are reminded that he gave us this.
THEY CANNOT TAKE THE MONEY AWAY FROM G-D. THE MOMENT WE/THEY GAVE THE MONEY TO THE CHURCH, AT THAT MOMENT OF LETTING GO IT IS ALREADY IN G-DS HAND IF THEIR HEARTS WHERE IN THE RIGHT PLACE. IF A BOSS GIVES YOU MONEY AND SAYS “Take this, and give it to one of the employees, in one of my establishments where you favor, you can keep part of the money if you do this thing, my workers they will know what to do with it for they are suppose to know.”
HOW IS IT SO THAT THE STORE WORKER WILL STEAL THE MONEY AFTER YOU HAVE DID WHAT YOUR BOSS HAS SAID. YOUR BOSS WILL UNDERSTAND THAT THE EMPLOYEE HAS TAKEN THE MONEY OUT OF GREED BECAUSE HE IS TOO MUCH OF A COWARD TO WORK FOR IT.

How can you say you are where Yeshua is at? If you do not know the lord and where he stays when he openly tells his sheep where he is you might be in danger of losing your full power because you said in your heart “I’m fine where I am at I dare not go foward to look for G-d for I believe I might confuse myself and lose the grace of G-d.”
But, did not Yeshua say that His father We worship as G-d, the G-d of Abraham, Yeshua plainly said that G-d sends those to him and Yeshua says he will not lose one single of them.

The dark side of the world will do it’s best to keep you from moving foward if they know you are going to leave them behind. If they expect you might become greater than them where they cannot go, they will grab what they see in you that is themselves and hold onto that. Levite Assistants: First-Tithes were Received by Servants to the Priests.
The false teaching is that Old Testament priests received all of the first Levitical tithe.
The whole tithe, the first Levitical tithe, did not go to the priests at all. It was not even the best tenth (Lev 27:33). According to Numbers 18:21-24 and Nehemiah 10:37b, it went to the servants of the priests, the Levites. And, according to Numbers 18:25-28 and Nehemiah 10:38, the Levites gave
the best tenth of this tithe (1%) to the priests who ministered the sin sacrifices.
Priests were expected to give freewill vow offerings –not tithes (Mal 1:13-14).
Point #7: Levitical Tithe-Recipients Could Not Own Property. (Chapter 6)
The false assumption today is that preachers can both receive tithes and also own property.
In exchange for receiving tithes, both Levites and priests forfeited all rights to permanent land inheritance inside Israel (Num 18:20-26; Deu 12:12; 14:27, 29; 18:1, 2; Josh 13:14, 33; 14:3; 18:7; Eze 44:28). Even if tithes were New Covenant they would first go to the ordinary workers who assist the preachers and maintain the buildings.

Jesus said the antichrist was there in his time so I know these men are not of GOD. People have to study the Bible for themselves so they can keep the Church pure. Christ gave his life for sinners. What is the work these people are doing? If you all would read the bible and not criticise then you would see where God has made provisions for priests/pastors and men of God who preach His Word. God has said in His Word, touch not my anointed ones and do my prophets no harm. We need to heed His Word and stop criticising. God is our ultimate judge and He will deal with His servants if they are robbing anyone. So all of you who are criticising a, the finger that you point one is pointing back at you.
For those of you who feel that men/women who preach and teach the word of God don’t deserve to get paid need to study the word of God about giving and the rewards of those that serve the Lord.
When you work – you get paid. Ministry is work people. You don’t ask your employers about what they do with their money; you’re probably not againt the sports arena getting paid millions of dollars or entertainers you support by purchasing tickets to their events.
Jesus was not poor. When has a poor man ever needed an accountant or treasurer. (John 13:29 – Judas was the treasurer). If airplanes or cars had been invented during the time Jesus walked the earth, I’m sure he probably would have owned them as well if he chose to. He definitely would have reached more people.

Here’s your opportunity to study the word for yourself if you can find the time to spend with the Lord and maybe your views will change about the amount of money those in ministry require to maintain facilities, travel, and the works for God in the lives of His people.
This is a huge responsibility for these precious people who have been called by God to do his work on this earth. You should be thankful for them rather than envious of their accomplishments. If it were you and you believed what you taught – then you should be able to be a showcase for God also.
We all should have something to give back to God for his blessings towards us. When Jesus returns, he should have more than what he had when he ascended back to be with our Father in heaven through his children.
I’m not rich because I haven’t made the sacrifices or right choices that should have been made but I know the principles of God and have received many answered prayers through obedience to his word. I truly cannot believe some of the negative comments that people are saying about the men and women of GOD!!! First of all why is it that when a man or woman of GOD are prospering people get mad or jealous I believe its because you are taking your focus off of what is really going on, why would you not want to be part of a ministry that is growing and the blessing of GOD are being pour out through the SHEPARD of the house, you hape to remain focus and stay in the word daily and know what your inheritance is, first of all you go to church to praise GOD, and have a relationship with the FATHER , SOULS SAVED, its ok to have other activites going on as long as you don’t allow them to stray away from the word of GOD!!! If you feel that your PASTOR is not doing right than by all means you need to pray and ask GOD to intervene,I do feel that we need to spend a lot more time preaching and less time with the drama, I do feel that most of the MEGA churches water down the message and put to much time on singing and other things that really aren”t relevant to the message, people come to church with all kinds of issues and they need to hear from GOD and they can’t get a breakthrough because you the pastors are to busy trying to recognize all the so called important people that are in your congregation! it is abundantly clear that most people who are commenting here are ignorant of the true word of God, the bible says DO NOT GATHER RICHES HERE ON EARTH, that is the command, Jesus says rather gather riches in heaven. Most people like to hear about being millionaires, but not one of them likes to hear about giving and not gathering up wealth according to the word. There is a big difference between being blessed and being greedy. I have been on the poor side of things, paid my tithe and not had enough for groceries. Some of those churches, when asked for help with food by a tithing member, don’t have the funds available to assist the poor, but the pastor and his family live in a gated community in a quarter-million-dollar house. The Church in the New Testament pooled their resources and saw to it that everyone’s needs were met, from the pastor to the widow with just a penny to spare. Everyone had what they needed, and nobody went away lacking or in hunger.
There are very few churches today where the pastor shares his financial blessing with his church. I’m sorry, but if your church has people, especially children, going to bed hungry at night or living in vermin-infested housing while you live in luxury and lack for nothing, there’s something wrong. The Word says that those who would be great should be servants of all. Where have we gone wrong, and allowed our clergy members to do the same? We have lowered our standards to appeal to the masses, forgetting that God demands righteousness, and that if we tell people one thing and live differently, the only ones we’re fooling is ourselves. The world sees us as the hypocrites we are.
Pastors are supposed to be shepherds. Shepherds keep watch over their flocks, protecting them and making sure they are in the place where their needs will be met for food, water and shelter. Do the pastors of today do this, or are they too busy having their homes built and buying cars and motorcycles and taking luxury vacations to even know how much of their flock is doing? The wolf sneaks in when the shepherd isn’t watching. The Church of today lives in sin, lies, cheats, and steals, and nobody is there to tell them it’s wrong. In fact, often the leaders are their best examples. They will answer for their ways. They are responsible for far more than those who aren’t in leadership, and they will be held accountable for mis-leading their congregations and tolerating what they know God says is sin without speaking out against it. Why don’t they speak out? They want the money that those who are living in sin put in the coffers. Woe to them. They will answer to God even if the judicial system doesn’t hold them responsible, and He is far more to be feared than a judge in a courtroom.

I have had thr honor of attending two services given by Bishop Long and Pastor Dollar,. These are two truly servants of God that teach us to follow God. I feel that the main reason these two pastors are being invesigated is because they are black and very sucessful . These two men have done God ‘ will and have led many people to God.

I’m going to be as honest as I can here.
I grew up in the south, in the baptist church later I converted to Catholicism, and now I believe in neither. The pastors I grew up admiring were men and women who believed in their faith and taught their faith to others. They sought not only harmony and peace, but the growth of all mankind. Usually, they were men and women who worked normal daily 9-5 jobs and they preached at night and on Sundays. They gave everything they had to anyone who asked. More often than not, the ministers of the churches I attended were in worse financial conditions then many of the congregation all because they gave to everyone and asked for nothing in return but fellowship.
Though I do not carry the torch for any of the religious sects in existence today, I have a very deep respect for those men and women who serve all others before themselves. Eddie Long and Creflo Dollar, along with many, MANY of these white ministers that do the same things, do not belong in that category and never shall.
You must quote scripture taking into account the whole Bible not just a few scriptures that prove your point. Most of the early New Testament church leaders were, crucificed, beaten, jailed etc.. Paul worked as a tent maker and supported himself. Jesus was buried in a rich mans donated grave. He did not have an earthly home. Jesus promised us eternal life not riches on this earth.
I will not comment on Dollar, Long, Oral Roberts, etc.. God will judge us all according to our works.
The Church of Jesus Christ, exists in mens hearts, not their wallets, the size of their churches etc.
A Pastor is worthy of his hire. He should have a decent standard of living but the Bible does not say he should live like the ruler of a small nation.
I think a truly successful minister is one that may have a million member congregation and still live in a modest home, driving a modest car and living a simple life. Im sorry but these lavish homes/cars etc are only a derived from greed. To be a man or woman of God and preach the teachings of God, there is no way you could sleep at night in your nice comfortable bed knowing that your 3000 or 5000 dollar mattress alone could have provided food for a small city of unfortunate people. Even if the preachers moved into a $300,000 home, that would leave $700,000 to feed needy folks. I agree that God says he will bless these folks, but I dont think million dollar mansions is what he meant.

There is a difference between wealth and excessive opulence! And why does so much of this ‘wealth’ have to be financial or material? What about spiritual wealth? And yes its ok for celebrities to be wealthy and exaggerated-they are not ‘in the business’ of proclaiming the holy word’. They are not EXPECTED to be HUMBLE!!! Lastly, the kingdom of heaven is not for sale, we are not supposed to be poor and impoverished, financial or spiritual but at the same time, you should not have to buy a vial of holy water to have your needs met.

I think that the major problem is that they are black with this kind of wealth. The pope has more money than all of these men combined specifically the catholic church. Does this mean they should be investigated. Some of these same pastors are the first to respond to natural disasters such as philipines earthquake, Katrina, Haiti etc. Before all of this was in the media tbn and other faith based churches televised on tbn have been building hospital in Haiti and orphanages etc. Likewise catholic churches give so much to the community as well. It amazes me how most of the people who complain about Pastors obtaining wealth don’t belong or attend a church. It also amazes me how soon people rally the wagons to bury the preacher and call him a crook when I don’t see you volunteering to feed the hungry or go get someone’s child out of prison. Or pay the electric bill of someone in the congregation who has no light but we are quick to call them crooks. Well then take part or a portion of your pay check to help those who are less fortunate than you and before some one gets on they can do for them selves wagon. Lets consider the children who don’t get or can’t afford breakfast who the churches feed daily which number in the millions. or the abused wife that recieves help getting a home and shelter from the church. The person with no clothes who recieves clothes or help from the church. My church personally gives out thousands of toys to children who are poor and would not recieve a toy for christmas othewise.
Also I find it strange no one investigates Bill gates and his million or Michael Jordan or Politicians who steal and cover up millions of dollars but we sure will tear down the preacher. Saddly, I believe that the accusations are true and that these young men have suffered for a long time. I’m sure there are going to many more that come forward. A person only needs so much money to be happy. Many want big homes, cars and plenty of money while they live here on earth but who are they really impressing: only each other. Your earthly wealth doesn’t impress God. What you do with it does. I notice a lot of these preachers with mega churches speak of how much work they do at the homeless shelters. Why not venture into a program that will get these people out of the shelters and into homes. They have the money. Just what would Jesus do? Just what did the disciples have………didn’t they give up what they had to follow Jesus?

Everybody, I have something to tell you. I am a Christian, but, I am poor. My son and I are struggling bad. Very bad. Those ministers are rich. Very rich. Do you know why they do well, and I don’t? It is because they are obedient to God and I am not, especially concerning tithing and faith. I rob God of tithes, and my faith is awful. My son and I suffer. Those men obey God’s Word and they teach others to do so. They prosper, I fail. Simple as that.
There is a scripture in the bible that says, ” May you prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers”. Actually Jesus does not want anyone to be poor, but things do work out that way. Watch out what you say about these ministers of God, and how you treat them. God will punish anyone that touches His annointed.

I feel that both sides of the story are to be handled by God, when trails happen to celebrities or people of influence, we are so quick to judge the situation. God is in total control, only He can rightly divided justice. As the bible says, pay attention to the plank in your own eyes instead of trying to get the speck out of your neighbors. I do agree that we should not sit up under corrupt leadership, however, I’ve gotten some serious inspiration from pastors that have fallen. They are human, but that shouldn’t be the resounding song we hear when they do fall. I feel that every one will stand before the Great I AM, and account for his/her sins when it’s time. God is not mocked! Wheather or not these allegations are true remains to be seen.. I am not a judge, I too must allow God to make and mold me into his own work of art. It is by the revealing of our strongholds, allowing God to bring you right back around to yourself, that we change!
While I’m not here to Judge Bishop Long, I think about the ” what if’s: of many pastors and others in religious authority.
When you look at such scandals such as his and others before( and probably after him), it is understandable why some people are discouraged from attending church ( or other religious centers they may attend). Nobody is perfect and non of us should expect it from them. However, when it comes to serious issues such as the ones that Bishop long is enduring, if he did it, he should confess. Right now he may be hurting and there may be some people who may not respect him for this, but I would be more apt to forgive him being honest with himself than, if the case, playing hide and seek with his congregation, the general public and the world.
Several years ago, I liked going to another Famous Bishop’s chuchwho endured the same wrath, the late Earl Paulk. I remembered wanting to be a member of his church, but never could go for some odd reason. I guess god knew better. Scandal after scandal broke out about him, until he passed away. I didn’t judge him, but when the truth came out it disappointed me. It was like you’re trying to make friends but they pretend to be by consistently stabbing you in the back.That was how I felt about Bishop Paulk when he had those numerous affairs with some of his members.
Though I reserved judgment about Bishop Long, it would be frustrating if he did commit those acts against those guys. I was looking at TV where most the members thinks that he’s innocent. I would like to think the same about him as well, but we don’t know what he is. If there is a pet peeve I have with some supporters is that they know he’s innocent/guilty without the whole case being investigated. I much would rather say that ” I support him” and that is all people can do because we haven’t heard the whole story. Similarly to late Earl Paulk, I want the truth to come out.. it’s like as long as they feel that they ‘re are supporters who declare them as innocent, they can just play with their emotions and just take them for granted until they can’t do it anymore.
I’m still looking for a church home and I have faith that god will lead me the wya to it, but I’m more careful now in selecting. No matter if it’s bishop Long’s church or a storefront church, the devil is looking for spiritually vulnerable minds. I just pray for god to show a true man/woman of the cloth. Nobody is perfect, but hope that the minister that I get is trying their best to be people of God’s word.

Yes, God Said that you do have to put one one tenth and you’re right, not tithing is robbing god, but tithing doesn’t always have to always be monetary. Spending time with people, helping the homeless, helpinh an illiterate person learn how to read or donating food and clothing are other examples of tithing( I have also struggled with this issue as people can make tithing a matter of fattening ones purse), at least that was a pastor told me. Even if the issue is about money, try to donate what is required of you and if you’re not able to he understands, just as long as you’re not constantly god for a ride.
Far as bishop long and other high ranking ministers like him, I have to disagree with you on this. If Bishop Long became rich because of his constant tithing, shouldn’t every tither in his congregation be in the same position? There are people who have been tithing for 60 years or more, yet they are not rich. Another thing, again, we don’t know the whole story, but how do we know how many times he’s tithed? There are ministers who tithed and still are not rich. Some of them are losing their churches because they cannot afford to pay their mortgage on them.
the biggest complaint that some people have about them is that their ministries are surviving because of the congregations tithes/offerings.Any Pastor will tell you that a church cannot survive without tithes, otherwise you’re church will die because of it. Bishop Long’s church is’;t there because he took the money out his own pocket and blessed it. It also took his growing congregation to do it. That’s a fact of any church.
You also have to look at being rich as not always being about money. It can be about your health, your family, your life etc. God can make you blessing without it always being about money and even if it was about money he can help you with your finances, but it doesn’t mean that you will literally come out being a multi millionaire. If that was the case, god would have made a lot of us as such because of it.

Mary should read the part where Jesus said he did not have even a place to lay his head. John A thank you for your comments. They are right on. Ministers ought not live in luxury at the levels that some live today. They shouldn’t even have the desire to be anything close to that ostentatious. There was a time when the minister got a salary from the church as a supplement to his daytime job. Years ago, a minister would never have dreamed of living in such luxury as it would have been deemed as unChrist like and as having a desire for worldy and material things. Even Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the world, along with Bill Gates is currently challenging the world’s billionaires to donate half of their fortunes to charity. Why can’t these rich ministers do that? Why can’t they donate half of their money say to the poorest members of their own congregations? Why not give one of their cars to a member that doesn’t have one? Nobody asked Buffet to do this. He is doing it because his spirit is troubled and sickened by the poverty in the world and specifically by the disparity of wealth in the USA. He leads by example and has given away half of his billions to the needy. I bet certain ministers are even in favor of extending the Bush tax cuts because they benefit from them as wealthy members of society. And yes most ministers do go to disaster areas and donate to charities but they have to do this. Churches enjoy a 501c non profit status thus they have to be accountable for that money that they raise. They have to give it away of they will be investigated by the IRS for abusing their non profit status. Also, unlike Warren Buffet, it’s not like the minister is giving away his won personal money to these charities. It is the money that came from the members of the church. There are certainly some wonderful ministers among us, true men and women of a mighty God. But, let’s face it, how many cars does one person need and how big does a house have to be before it’s mistaken as being a hotel.

The Apostle Paul stated that he would not do ANYTHING that caused someone to question the Lordship of Christ. No one has proven yet that Bishop Long is guilty. It is an allegation. But if he is found to have done what he is alleged to have done, it is NOT a light thing. It is heinous. And if it is proven to be true, Christians need look no further than God Himself who stated that Judgement begins in the house of God. If it is true, “Satan,” had nothing to do with it. How stupid do we Christians want to be? God said that we would recognize these false teachers by THEIR FRUITS. First of all, who are we to judge whether or not they are “really men of God?” If you have a problem or questioning their motives, your job is to pray. That is, if you’re a praying person. I don’t mean one that pray’s only when it’s beneficial to you. Second, have you researched and found out how they got started? How much of their “Own” money did they put up to start this so called “business” as you all call it, Thirdly, who are we to accuse them of using the church funds wrongly. According to the Bible, we are to feed, clothe and give them a place to sleep when they are giving of their time to do the work of God by preaching the word of God and serving the people. Lastly, the People of God need to learn to be more prayerful and STOP tearing down the kingdom because of petty things. So what they expensive homes, cars, etc. If they are misusing church funds, don’t worry God will uncover. All things done in the dark will come to light. Huh, isn’t it something, we can always talk about what everyone else doing but we NEVER, evaluate our own lives and try to change. Always looking for a reason to point blame. It always amazes me how some people look at what others have. God’s word tells us to give with a joyful heart. The preachers are there to put the word out, but it’s up to us to READ the word and understand it for ourselves. Many of these ministers mentioned have wrote book, etc…… A lot of their riches come from that. I noticed when it comes to a black man making money there’s always an investigation into his finances. The bible tells us to give and don’t worry about if the leaders of the church are doing right with the money given. It’s GOD job to take care of those that do wrong. They tried to say Joel Osteen was taking people for their money and he proved to them that all his income came from his books and tapes. How do you think they are able to pay for those massive churches they have. How are they suppose to pay to go over to Africa to help those in need. A lot of these men like Long has given a lot back and was blessed for doing so. We as people of this planet earth need to stop criticizing others for their success and start helping others like the word tells us. God will supply all of His children’s need so I don’t have a problem with us or preachers living comfortable. My problem is overdoing it with the wealth while most of your followers are needy and you keep taking what little they have. Their tithes are supposed to feed those who don’t have, not to build mega-churches and mansions. If you pay tithes, which you are not compelled to do, you do so hoping to be blessed with things. God cares more about your walk with Him. There is a lot of financial abuse in the meg-churches which came up just in the last fe years, and persons running behind pastprs as if they are God. Do you know that the Bible said, some of them especially the chasmatic ones are sent by Satan. I am not saying that any of these mentioned here are so, but how do we know who is who? God said that we should test the spirits, a lot of false prophets are now in the world and would try to fool even the very elect. Some congregations need to ask themselves as they are charmed by some of these men and women, if they are truly sent by God. Pray about things especially if you find yourself always blindly defending them. Only God knowa for sure who is who and wwill help His children to see them, but you have to be willing to see. I judge no one. Its not every preacher is God’s anointed, we look to worship them more than we worship God and they know it and this is why anything that suits them they can preach it to you and you believe. You are responsible for your own soul and you cannot tell God on judgment day that it”s the pastor who didn’t do right. Remember the end times things will be different from the way they were in the early days. Search the Scriptures for yourself and don’t depend on anyone else. They are just men like us and will fall at times. Look to God and let;s pray for each other especially the weaker. Remember Satan, especially in these times is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He is seeking to get as amny as he can to burn in hell with him. Watch and pray. Pastors are not the answer.
Why shouldn’t people of God be prosperous? We should not be focused on external and the material wealth of the preacher, but focused on his character and his christian walk, as well as our own. I am a blessed and prosperous single woman, but I know where my blessing’s come from and love God with all my heart, If we walk in the will of God and trust God, we will be abundantly blessed..
Why not have the heart of God and change our concept about being prosperous. As christians we should walk and talk about prosperity and being blessed!
Let’s keep thing’s in perspective. As christians we should walk upright, live right, and have abundant life, which emcompasses being blessed! We should also love and help one another so that they can have abundant life and prosperity.
We should not beat up on one another, for the world is watching us. How can we reach out to worldly people and cannot love each other in the body of christ? When a brother or sister in christ has fallen or swayed away we should pray and love them. For we all have sin and come short of the Glory of God! Let’s stop judging and being critical of one another!

I always was always tought that a person of God should be humble and do his or her best to show others the path twards the All Mighty through humility, compassion, faith and good deeds. These so called pastors are not only failing to uphold their supposed “calling”, but at the same time they are displaying some of the worst traits that a person could. The Bible states to not touch God’s annointed and do his profits now harm. If these undershepards are telling the truth then those who are prosecuting them are going against biblical teaching. If they are guilty of what they are accused of, then God will bring them to justice in due time.
When you give tithes and offerings they are not for you to worry about what the people of the church do with them. You give to GOD not to anyone else so you are clear of any wrong doing. If a man of God misuses them it is their cross to have to bear.

Now why would an honest pastor believe HE should live high on the prosperity hog-“preaching” the very Bible where Jesus and apostle taught us by their example how to live-humble. It is clearly stated in the book of acts as to how the Church body and it’s leaders are to live. It states that they were all one and no one had need because those that had shared with those that had not. The elders or leaders were to make sure that everyone was equally supplied for so that there would be no envy, jealousy and strife. Yes the leaders of the Church Body are to be provided for by the Body but they are only to meet their basic needs, because they, like you, are servants, not Gods. The definition of a Christian is one who follows the walk of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (by abiding in His word of Life). It is also true that the faithful servant shall experience overflow and abundance. That overflow and full storehouse is supposed to be to supply for the needs of the flock.

I think all the comments are full of errors . If you look at scriptures an not the man or what words they say and focus only on what God says you see it doesn’t say that the church would be rich or wealthy nor does it say that it won’t . You have to look at what Jesus said would happen near the end times. Jesus said they would drag you before authorities for my name sake an punish you . It also says there would be decievers of the word and decieve many . That requires ability to make decisions based on who is right . who does keep God’s word who obeys the word and not just give lipservice . Mark7:7 . So it is up to the individual to decide who is the right person that has the good fruit an not the bad . All men have sinned and
fallen short of God’s glory . But who are we to judge another man’s works toward God . Are we playing God ? The early church no longer exists . It died out after the disciples died . So where do we go to look for the preaching of the word . Well we go to the book itself . We all are a church in ourselves . We are God’s temple.
We can pick up a systematic theology book and get some understanding or read some commentary what someone else thinks . If you boil it all down the whole thing is based on conjecture . That is the freedom of Christ . You get to make of God what you want to . There is nothing you can do or think that will change God’s mind . He came to save all mankind and that is it . An he already paid that price so there is nothing you can say or do to change that . Your saved period . No religion no government noone can take it away or change that . Satan and his demons

But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not [any] inheritance: the LORD God of Israel [was] their inheritance, as he said unto them.
The animals tithed are also, by definition, classifed as assets. The sale or exchange of the animals would result in income.
Therefore, it is plain to see, by definition, not interpretation, God’s command to tithe was on assets, not income. I have already shown that they had money, income, and markets to buy and sell.
Notice also that the tithe was a tenth of the crops, not the first tenth, and that it was on every tenth animal that passed under the shepherd’s rod, not the first. Nowhere in the scriptures did God ever command tithing to be on the first ten percent.
My research reveals that in the nineteenth century, church leaders were saying that the crops and animals was the income of the Israelites. That was a false premise that led to the false conclusion that Israelites tithed on their income. There is no example in the scriptures where God required anyone to tithe on income.
To make matters worse, the assets that God required to be tithed came from God, not man. The crops and animals were miracles of God, not from the labor of man. God wasn’t commanding to pay back to Him a tenth of what man created or earned. The false conclusion that tithing was on income resulted in a complete misunderstanding of what God’s tithe was all about.
Numbers 18:23-28 (KJV)
23But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
24But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
25And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
26Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.
27And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress.
28Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD’S heave offering to Aaron the priest.
So the tithes were paid to The Lord, and The Lord gave the tithes to the Levites, who in turn, would have no inheritance; they could not own any land.
Church leaders have essentially diluted the tithe from God’s miracles to man’s achievements. In other words, in the tithing formula, man has replaced God with himself!
Nehemiah 10:37-38 (KJV)
37And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.
38And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.
In Nehemiah 10:37 we learn that the firstfruits were taken to the temple for the priests, and the tithes were taken to the Levites who lived in the Levitical cities. Therefore, it has been established that firstfruits have nothing to do with the tithe.
In Nehemiah 10:38 we learn that the Levites would take a tithe of the tithe to the temple. It is this tithe, the tithe from the Levites, that went to the storehouse, not the tithe from the people. This is important to remember when we study Malachi 3:10

O, it’s ok for a guy to get millions for running with a ball, trowing a ball, hitting a ball, etc when it has no impact on bettering anyone’s lives but their or have no effect on making the world better BUT it is not ok for a PREACHER who help people to be well taken cared of. It ok for a football player, a basketball player, a movie star(who are waste of space most of the time and waste most of their monies on selffish things) to get paid in one night more than about 10 families will ever make over the next 10 yrs!! People get upset at preachers for what reasons? It makes no sense to me. They can go and throw away their monies and make Brad Pitt, Dwight Howard, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton richer and richer with each movie or game their go to and have no issue with it. But, you have a man or woman who spend their lives, having little or no time for their own families most of the time and honestly helping people everyday and they get income from doing this and it’s a problem. So, if you are a MOTIVATIONAL speaker and go to cooperation and make big bucks its ok to do? I don’t get why people hate preachers so much. Most of the time they have no idea the work and tears they put in. All they see if the TV image and get mad. I’m no preacher but I use to babysit for a preacher and I saw the behind the scene challenges they do through. If, they are doing a great job, they are worth every cent they receive.
Think of King David ,He really got out of the will of God and he was a man after God’s on heart .We must be careful not to touch God’s anointed.As the scriture says’ Touch not my Anointed nor do my Prophets no hamr ,those who do bring judgment on themselves

What we have today is the same as the old Roman Church of the Middle Ages. I have no problem with Ministers making money if they write books or use television marketing. If this is the case they should pay taxes on the income. The Bible tells Christians to render to Caesar. No man is above reproach. If you all are real Christian read Ezekiel 34. See you are so quick to defend these pastors because you do not read the scriptures. Please do not use the scripture touch not may anointed. The word means and refers to: Sent, Messiah,Christ or Christians. The title does not specify pastors. In regards to Bishop Eddie Long. He has my prayers. I hope he did not commit those vile acts. I ask we all respect what he said and allow the man to be judged in the courts. Keep your negative comments to yourself because none of us were there. We know people will lie for money and we know people will lie to avoid jail. So lets just sit on the sidelines and hope for the best. This makes our religion come under contempt.

The good news is that more and more Americans are turing to agnosticism and atheism. It wouldn’t be fair of me to adamantly denounce the existence of god, since there isn’t conclusive proof to say god isn’t real. Still there’s absolutely no proof supporting the existence of god. An intellectual, rational, realist doesn’t believe in god. I personally don’t believe, but I’m open to the matter of the supernatural. I know that there are many weary folks out there needing some sort of spiritual crutch and they’ll fall victim to dangerous individuals like all tele-evangelists, psychics, spiritualists, etc., and these desperate people will give their hard earned cash to those insolent monetary villains. I’ll live my life believing in the here and now, I need not concern myself with what “might be.” People automatically assume that us non-believers are disgraceful dishonest people; fact is, atheists and agnostics tend to be much more open to other people, honest and well grounded. I can tell you of the host of dishonest, felonious christians that I’ve read about and some that I actually knew. I’m not saying that all non-believers are good people, but the ratio of people in my life that have done good unto others have been the skeptical community. My hope is that the secular revolution in America continues to flourish. Religion in my estimation is the root of so much of what is plaguing the world. The delusional Muslims and the fervor they’ve inflicted upon the world in idolizing some fake god, Allah. So you kill and torture in the name of some bogus god! Dr. Christopher Hitchens’ book, God Isn’t Great , hits the nail on the head in why god and organized faith has done so much harm throughout the ages. It’s a free country and you may choose to believe in whatever your little heart desires, but until science can conclusively proclaim that there is a god or no there isn’t a god, the subject matter will continue to be in a heated debate.
As I sit and read about all the comments about how people view theses leaders and their conduct I can’t understand why people refuse to except the real truth about what the word of god says about false teachers. I’m not saying that theses pastors are false but I’m pointing out that you must study your bible and reconize the real truth and see if what being said line up with the word. I recently written a book entitle revealing the hidden truth by revelation of the holy spirit and it simply touches on a lot of these topics. we put to much trust in man and when we are disappointed we want to start to criticize their conduct or character. if we would stop putting so much trust in man and start focusing on the truth than we wouldn’d become so disappointed. when you really such the scripture you will find that a lot of things mentioned over theses pupits are not use in reference to god word. often time the word are taken and comformed to get people to submit to doing what they feel is right. but it dosen’t stop with this situation we has to take a boarder look at what’s going on in the spirit world and the devil is behind all of this. it’s all about getting people confused and starting them to doubt the word of god but people I tell you that god word is true and he will do what he say he will do. for his word says put not your trust in man because man often fails. now when it comes down to weather theses pastors are innocent or guilty they will have to give an account of the life they have live here on this earth and if they are not following the word and applying it to their life they are already judge. no matter what the out come of this situation god is still in charge and every man will be judge according to his or her own works. if they mislead the people and use the word of god by twisting it to get poople to conform to their way of belief please know that this kind of teaching will not go unpunished.
Let God be the judge of the Pastors that are pastoring a church for the wrong reason. Only he knows the heart. The truth is the word of God need to be taught. Prosperity messages is all some of them ever will preach.Study the word. The truth is if you seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness the rest shall be added to you. I am one who did try the Lord. Within 7 months all my bills were paid automaticly, and the only bills I had coming thur the mail were tithes and offerings. I regret I didn’t keep giving the amount I was giving. Now I’m sorry to say I have a loan payment more than what I was giving every month. Plus a new credit card. I learned the hard way. Try the Lord, and see his word is true. If it works as many people as it has, It will work for all of you too.

These men are called of God to teach His word. Wealth is in the house of those who walk uprightly, God promises that in the Bible. If Creflo Dollar or these other wealthy ministers didn’t have integrity concerning money, God would make sure they didn’t prosper. God has all kind of ways of doing that.
These men of God who God uses to be a blessing to other people also have businesses on the side which has nothing to do with what church people give to the church. Would it make the critics happy if these men of God just stopped helping and being a blessing to the community and just live lavishly with the money they make just like any other wealthy business man? Critics against men of God who God prospers are so ignorant. You have a problem with that, go complain to God about it. See how that works out for you….sinner.
By the way, I have insider info from back in the year 2000 when Creflo’s monthly tv bill was near 4 million dollars. His monthly electricity bill for the church property was 400,000 dollars. And you think he’s hogging all the money. No way he meets those bills if he didn’t have integrity. I am not much on MEGA CHURCHES never have been probably never will be, but if that is the calling that the LORD as given one than praise GOD but I have offten wonderd how these Pastors can truly be able to care over so many people oh I know they have elders and other associate pastors helping and thats fine in its place but too many times you see and hear about them being gone all of the time how can you truly sheppard your house if you are always gone!!!!! I do understand that they have other engagements but sometime you need to say NO!!!!! you cannot commit to eveything all of the time. And some of them use this as a excuse to be away from home or even their home church,Perhaps if the members would step up to the plate and stop allowing all of this then just mabye we would see more of the Hand of GOD moving, I truly believe GOD is tired of all this CHURCH playing I don’t believe that GOD would have a man or woman that he has called to always be gone ,sometime these Pastors may say that this is of GOD but truly come on their are enough people in the world for GOD to annoint and prepare to go out and reach others . I cannot understand why people of God has to be so into themselves. If youall would take that money and try to help the needy, you would show yourself a person of GOD. First of all, we serve a perfect God. People frown down on preachers who live in luxury but I feel that if you work for God, you should look like you work for God. Why does God’s representatives have to be poor. Does not God own everything.

organizations that help people in need, like soup kitchens, homeless shelters and
food pantries Also if there are members in need a church should be able to help them. If you want to give your 10% to God then why not go down to your local Mission or soup kitchen and give them a check every week? Why give it to a ministry? Do you think they know better where to distribute your money? Or God’s money? If more people gave their tithings to local food shelters or homeless shelters then we could be helping so many more people on this earth. I dont have an issue with pastors making money but more of your tithings would be better served at the local shelters then some of it going to help someone then the rest paying for a ministry’s upkeep and paying their bills. As a matter of fact I am going to do just that. Give my tithings to a local shelter rather than a ministry.

How many of these false teachers could afford their lavish life style aside from using the word of God as their way of acquiring the large sum of money that they accumulate?

The regular ‘Praiseathons’ to raise funds that are on the various God channels here in the uk are a disgrace. The psychological pressure that is put on christians to give and the deceit is unbelievable. To use the Word of God in such a deceitful lying way is horrendous. Ever likely Christians have such a bad press. The ticker tape along the bottom of these programmes tells you who has given and how much (totally wrong anyway – the Bible says don’t let your right hand know what your left hand is giving). When you see that people from 3rd world countries like Africa and India are giving it breaks your heart. They aught to be the ones receiving. I can’t understand how these charlatans dare to do it.By the way I do believe God wants to bless us and give us enough for our own needs and also have some to bless others with, but these monstrously big ministries where their leaders live like celebrities is a shame on the Christian church and I just don’t know how anybody can justify it.

I don’t know what Bishop Long did or didn”t do. But I did notice that never did he say, “I am innocent or I did not do this or I’m falsely accused. ” What I did hear him say was, ” I’m gonna fight this”. and the congregation went wild! One more thing. I keep reading that the Bishop does a lot for the community. Come on people! The Bishop doesn’t give, it’s the church thats giving and he gets the credit ! God’s messangers don’t need jets! The Bishop isn’t the only one buying jets with the people’s money. Atlanta, GA. has so many homeless people. Why not build more places for the homeless? The upkeep on the jet could build a homeless shelter, probably more than one.shelter. God has said “ENOUGH”.

God chooses to bless those He chooses to bless in whatever form. The Why, Who, When and Where is not for us to decide. What we need to concern ourselves with is obeying God. So if God says give, you give. If He says tithe, you tithe, if He says give offering, you give offering. If you are not so confident that the funds are being used correctly, then you look for a place where you know your money will be used to feed the poor etc and you go give.
Believers are called to be obedient to the Word of God. Let’s get to doing what it says. If some preacher has been involved in the misuse of funds that does not mean we stop doing what God has told us to do. If you do, you will be disobeying God. And the other thing is this. I believe there are some preachers that God has blessed. If God has given it to them. Please allow them to enjoy the blessings of God in peace.
i hear many complain that preachers have this and that and that they must have used church funds etc. My question is how do you know? Without any concrete proof, for the fear of God, my advise is that it’s best not to say what you don’t know. If the allegation is true then it must be dealt with accordingly even to the point of involving the law. But if you don’t know believers don’t get involved in spreading rumours, for your own sake.
And for those that say Jesus was not rich and so therefore we shouldn’t also then how do you explain this?
Abraham was rich, so was Jacob, so was Daniel, so was Boaz, so was Jabez, so was Saul, so was David, so was Solomon, so was Job.
And for those that say all believers are supposed to be financially rich, I say this also.
Likewise some others weren’t for example Paul and I think the other disciples too.
So how then do you harmonise seemingly contrasting statements? The bible said Paul was told what he must suffer for the gospel. Could Paul have changed his lot simply by sowing financially? I don’t think so.
For me what I think is this. God’s general will for us is to prosper. All children of God (even the ones that are not rich) prosper if you understand that prosperity is not only in financial terms.
There are some that may have to go through hardship (and we all do in one way or another) which could be financial hardship for some for the sake of the gospel.
So how do we know what we have to endure or will not have to endure for a season or even a lifetime? Well you ask God. Paul was told what he would have to go through. Because God’s general will for His children is for us to prosper does not mean that everyone will be wealthy. It all depends on what you will have to endure in this lifetime. I know some may say it’s because you don’t tithe etc but I’m sure Paul must have tithed?
And so will all tithe giving/offering giving believers be financially rich? Not necessarily. Will God supply and meet the needs of all believers? Yes. Paul did not die of hunger even though he wasn’t rich. God will give each believer what He knows they need. If you don’t get it, you may not be walking in faith or it may be that God knows that that it is not what you need. But if God knows you need it, He will supply it.
At Leuvell, you mentioned Mary gave 2 pigeons because she couldn’t afford to bring a lamb. But notice that she gave of the little she had. She didn’t sit and complain about the priest spending all the money on buying grain and wheat. She just did what God had told her to do. This is what we should do. Give whatever we have out of a heart of love for God.
With re: Pastor Eddie Long. Rather than comment. I wonder if any one has simply stopped to pray for this man. If you haven’t this is what we as believers are meant to do.

God’s Word (the BIBLE – for those of you that don’t know) says that those who are not of/in God’s Kingdom are blind. Have any of you filled out an offering envelope? Most offering envelopes have catagories that you can check as to where you want your offering to go. ( i.e. missions, food pantry, general, or PASTOR etc.) This means if people want to “give” their $$$ to bless the pastor…they can! HELLO! Perhaps you would like me to tell you how to spend your $$$. God’s word says that GOD owns it all. He owns the gold, the silver, the diamonds….the cattle on a thousand hill, etc………..HE OWNS IT ALL. There is nothing in the Bible that says that you have to be poor if you are a Christian. God has also placed us on earth to be stewarts of HIS stuff. Now it is what you do with HIS stuff and what HE gives to you and how you go about DOING with it that can get you into trouble. Just because a man of God/preacher etc. lives in a mansion does not mean that there is stealing going on. I do not care what color the person skin is!!! If GOD gave it to them and it is theirs, can they not do what they want to with what belongs to them? We all have the choice whether or not to do sinful things with what God gives to us/belongs to us however; that is between you and God. GOD BLESSES HIS OBEDIENT. Who rules your heart? Are you obedient or are you being disobedient and therefore living in lack/poverty and in your bitterness and jealousy are sitting around judging others? Have you plucked the beam from your own eye so you can see RIGHT before trying to pluck the spinter out of someone elses eye. If you have something in your eye blinding you how can you even see to take something out of someone elses eye? You may want to get your life right with God and then HE will give you understanding of Kingdom principals. God loves you as He created you. HIS desire is to BLESS you and give you GOOD things. He is patient and is waiting for you to seek HIM. Don’t wait too long or before it is too late. God loves you and wants you with Him in His kingdom for all eternity however; the choice is “yours”. HOW? Ask Jesus to come into and rule your heart. You must recieve God’s son/Jesus as He is the only way. LOL.

What ever they drive or live in is not of my concern, they have touched the lives of many people and have blessed many people. God is in control of anything that is not done right and if they have misused the funds, they will answer to the Lord. But you are not to judge and blame those who are an open book to the world while preaching the Gospel. Anyone who knows the word of God, wont want to cheat the Lord in any form. God knows the heart of man, and if someone finds an opportunity to do his duty and bring out the so called truth, is also going to answer to God.
Open the word, read, seek Him…why spend your time finding what is wrong in others, look in the mirror first.

If the blessing are materialistic then most people in the world are still waiting for ABRAHAM’S BLESSINGS. i have never been fooled into paying tithes but i do give freely like the bible tell me to. for those of you that think that by paying or giving your tithes God is going to open the window of heaven so that you can be blessed with riches etc .if you are still poor and struggling then sorry you are a poor advertisement for this part of Gods word. i was in a church one day and the preacher said all those that want a financial blessing put your hand up, then he said don’t put your hands up if you do not pay your tithes because you are cursed with a curse. at that point about 200 people put their hands, up (I suppose these are the ones who were paying tithes) out of about 300. my point is why did 200 people need a financial blessing what happen to the windows of heaven, it seem to me that they were no better off that those who did not pay their tithes. this just goes to prove that this scripture used in Malachi was never intended for the people of God to day. the only ones that are really being made rich are the ones that are receiving the tithes, even if they are right. I guarantee you that if i was to receive tithes from today i would be financially OK. Last thing the rain falls on the just and unjust so just stand and whatever God sends down receive it.
I was raised Catholic and now I attend a non-denominational church. In the Catholic church, the priest did live a life of simplicity, nothing more, nothing less. Our priest actually used money from church and his salary to help pay tuition for the students of the church to attend private schools because the public schools were crap. My church that I attend now is considered a mega chruch. However, i see major differences in my church than many other mega churches. The one thing I can’t understand is if God says if you see a need then you own that need, and should do whatever you can to fulfill it, then what happens to the needs we see everyday? I can understand when you sow into your church, God’s house, then you will be blessed spiritually and financially. And that’s cool. However, do you have to be lavish about it? Do you really need a jet? I’m not that familiar with the bible, but I’m sure wants do not trump needs and the needs of others. Jesus helped and lived, and he was God’s servant. He was not living a lavish life and he could have if he wanted to. I guess what, I’m saying is that the money you spent to build this mansion could have fed a startving country for yrs to come, or help people get clean water, or help rebuild Haiti or Brazil, or whatever needs that we see everyday. And the reason they are being targeted is because they are considering themselves servants of God, and we as people expect them to be just that. Our idea of servants are not rich people. It only makes it worse when other celebrity pastors criticize your lifestyle. They have the same money if not more, and they choose to do/be different. People will have their time on judgement day, however our government can care less about judgement day.

Know what you should know.There were so many comments, I couldn’t read them all, but does anyone go to Pastor Dollar’s church? Or attend his church regularly? Wow, go, sit, hear, and listen. Then go again, and sit, hear, listen. Then go again, and sit, hear and listen. You will need spiritual ears. That means having the Holy Ghost with you before you get there, and if you don’t have him, he’ll be there waiting for you to receive him. Then, let God discern for you if this man is a crook or deceiving the church out of their money. I am a member of his church in New York. Thought the same thing about him before I was saved. Thought the same thing after I was saved. UNTIL, I went, sat, heard and listened and listened and listened and listened. Don’t allow yourself to continue to be deceived, when you haven’t tried to find out the truth, and then when you find your truth was wrong, because of ignorance, thank God for revealing the truth to you. I absolutely believe that the “men/women of God should be blessed; however it’s an absolute ungodly DISGRACE that these individuals hide behind the pulpit to gain financial wealth, while their parishioners are suffering. The very Bible from which they preach teaches about CHARITY it teaches about HUMILITY, it teaches about alms giving. To put it quite simple: there are too many poor and impoverished individuals in need of food, clothing and shelter for any individual who calls himself/herself ministers and servants of God to live in their wealthy earthly Kingdoms. WE REALLY NEED TO READ, UNDERSTAND AND LIVE IN THE WORD. Dont be fooled by the seductive and enticing words that these Spiritual Imposters preach. The very Bible reminds you that by their fruits, ye shall know them. MATTHEW 7:15 BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS, WHICH COME TO YOU IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING, BUT INWARDLY THEY ARE RAVENING WOLVES. PROVERBS 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man;but the end thereof are the ways of death. In conclusion, I am a chosen Minister of God who made vow, that I will never be rich in worldly possessions, because I am compelled to distribute to the poor always. I am abundantly WEALTHY in the Lord. Thank God that all of my provisions are met daily. God gives to me because I give to the poor; If I am holding a loaf of bread in my left hand, my right hand is left empty so that I may break this loaf and share to those without; this is my philosophy.

There is a widespread “seed sowing” epidemic/gimmic, in too many churches today, I wonder what these lying pastors would do when the “LORD OF THE HARVEST” really puts in his appearance? Their approach is in extremely poor taste and quite transparent. They are quite neglectful of the fact that they have an accountto give.
Parishioners should be taught to “TITHE” according to the Word of God for the upkeep of the Church and should also give a FREE-WILL offering; but should not be forced or compelled to do so. Free Will means giving willingly, not being forced; to be forced is not to be blessed. The Pastors should be cared for by the Church but within reason. God is being commercialized by these GREEDY PASTORS, and there is a price to be paid. They must give an account to GOD for the trickery used to extract monies from these poor individuals. I applaud Mr. Dollar for the Teaching that he shares; it’s absoulutely tremendous, but I am definately not in agreement with his lavish lifestyle. I do believe that he and others should live in comfort; enjoy many of the good things that God has to offer, but much of the EXCESS should be distributed to the poor. I have also followed Mr. Fred Price for many many years; however when he began to repeatedly boast of his wealth and his $270,000 car, he definately lost me. Of course all that I could think of are the many hungry souls that could be fed. It’s ok to boast about the Goodness of God because he does Bless his faithful ones as promised, but I believe that these individuals should use much more discretion in what they choose to put out across the airways; much of it is in poor taste and much of their irreverence is quite transparent. MAY THEIR EYES BE OPENED UNTO THE POOR. God dosen’t want our fragments; he want our very best. We are to share much of what we consider to be our best.

WE HAVE BEEN BAMBOOZLED TO BELIEVE THAT THE WEALTH ONLY BELONGS TO THE WICKED, WHEN THE WORD SPEAKS OF THE TRANSFERENCE OF WEALTH TO THOSE IN FINANCIAL NEED. WE SHOULD KNOW OUR ASSIGNMENTS AND APPOINTED TIMES AS WELL AS RECOGNIZING THE SEASON THAT YOU ARE IN. I HAVE KNOW IDEA WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO CONVEY BUT BELIEVE IN A HARVEST “SOWING AND REAPING” IS A PRINCIPLE NOT ONLY IN THE NATURAL BUT IN THE SPIRITUAL ALSO. IF YOU BELIEVE THAT THESE “FALSE PROPHETS” ARE MISGUIDING THE FLOCK APPROACH THEM IN PERSON WITH YOUR ACCUSATIONS AND CONFRONT THEM FACE -TO FACE. INSTEAD OF HIDING BEHIND A BLOG AND TAKING CONDENMATORY ‘POTSHOTS” AT THEM AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE WHY THE NEED FOR THIS?
I didnt have the time to go threw all of the postings so forgive me if i post what someone else has said this is just coming from my heart, I am a believer in Jesus Christ , i do tithe I also listen to pastor Dollars word and have applied some of his principles in my life under the guideance of the Lord and Savior, I believe in the fact that God sees all and will deal with us all according to our wrong doing, the men and women of Pastor Dollars church are not helpless people brainwashed into giving of their tithes, they are aware of the word and aware if they are being swindled or not these are not poor souls as one might think God has blessed them for their obiedance not to Pastor Dollars pockets but to his word, if you know the word of God and are in your bible and in prayer you will be able to recognize false teaching and preaching, the pastors are not our God they cant force us in to thinking anything, after a while phony preach from the pocket pastors will be found out and loose not at all saying that this is what pastor Dollar is, i dont know I know that he preaches a sound docturine which you can find in the bible and upon praying on it and having a connection with God i dont find anything in the word that Ive heard to be misleading, I believe that these pastors are men, women and they have real issuies real problems real addictions they are examples of how God can work in our lives. They are not superhumans so why expect them to be perfect, why expect them to walk on water as if they are Jesus himself lets be real with ourselves. I dont think its any of my bussiness what Creflo or whom ever else is underfire does with the money all i know is that God requires it out of me and for my obideance i have been blessed in many ways not just finanical i believe that alot of times we tend to look for the down fall of others, “oh no hes not a man of God” Oh no shes not a woman of God” look at what they did. it is hard for us to believe that God is just that good, and awesome without a catch. It is our disbeielf in God that causes us to lurk and seek out the imperfections of his people. but the point still stands that we are required to tithe regaurdless of whatever, you will see his fruits in your life and if the person recieving the tithes are wrong in what they are doing that is the bussines of God not you, you judge how you want to be judged so i ask havent you done something wrong ever? So if God was merciful on you you need to be the same with everyone else basicly mind your bussines we have enough of it tend to, to not dig deep into someone elses. God is still Lord whether you believe it so why dont we worry about our own walk and let him deal with everyones elses pray for them and keep it moving
